A Guide to the Virgin Voyages Sailing Club Loyalty Program

Virgin Voyages

Like many cruise lines, Virgin Voyages has a loyalty program that rewards repeat guests with a variety a benefits. Unlike most cruise lines, the Virgin Voyages loyalty program is quite simple with only three tiers. In our guide to the Virgin Voyages Sailing Club, we’re going over how to reach each level, the benefits you’ll receive, and more.

Our Guide to the Virgin Voyages Loyalty Program

How do you sign up for the Virgin Voyages Sailing Club?

There’s no signing up necessary! Once you’ve completed your first Virgin Voyages cruise, you’re automatically enrolled in the Sailing Club.

How many levels are in the Virgin Voyages loyalty program?

The Virgin Voyages Sailing Club loyalty program has three tiers. Tiers are based on the number of Virgin Voyages cruises you have taken. This differs from many other lines, which award points based on the number of nights sailed.

Once you’ve taken your first cruise, you’re automatically enrolled into the first Sailing Club tier. You move into the second tier, which is called Blue Extras, once you’ve completed your second cruise. You have access to the perks on your third sailing. The top tier, Deep Blue Extras, is reached by completing your fourth Virgin Voyages cruise, with perks to be enjoyed on your fifth.

Voyages that count towards the Sailing Club program are full-fare cruises that haven’t used a discounted access key or other low-fare pricing method (such as gifted cruises, comped casino cruises, or sailings bought with airline points). Reduced rate voyages and some other booking types aren’t eligible to earn or receive perks.

What benefits do you receive in each Virgin Voyages Sailing Club tier?

Sailing Club

You will have base membership in the Sailing Club once you’ve completed your first cruise. Since everyone who has completed one cruise with Virgin Voyages is automatically in this tier, it doesn’t have any tangible perks. Instead, perks come in the form of deals and digital media. They are access to exclusive cruise offers, notification of promotions before the general public, and a members quarterly newsletter.

Blue Extras

Once you’ve taken your second cruise, there are more substantial perks to enjoy during your third sailing. In addition to the perks included in the base tier, Blue Extras guests receive one complimentary specialty coffee per day on board. They also receive an invitation to an exclusive Sailing Club cocktail event, as well as one free bag of laundry and access to a dedicated Sailor Services support line.

Deep Blue Extras

Deep Blue Extras is the highest tier in the Sailing Club, which you unlock once you’ve completed your fourth cruise. In addition to the things mentioned above, Deep Blue Extras includes two free specialty coffees per day instead of one, priority boarding at embarkation, and two pressed items plus one specialty cleaned item of clothing on top of the free bag of laundry.

Deep Blue Extras also includes unlimited premium wifi, which adds more capability (streaming and basic video calling) on top of the classic wifi which is included for all guests (messaging, wifi calling, web browsing, and basic social media). Guests in this tier receive a $100 Bar Tab Credit — which is onboard credit that can be used towards beverages — as well.

Passengers can use their specialty coffee perk at the ship’s bars or restaurants, including the dedicated coffee shop Grounds Club and its sister location Grounds Club Too. Coffee ordered through Ship Eats (room service) is not eligible. Alcoholic coffee cocktails are not included.

Which tier am I in if I’m a Sea Blazer or Sea Rover?
