For cruisers comparing different cabin options, we have put together this Adventure of the Seas Spacious Ocean View Balcony Cabin Review.

Adventure of the Seas Spacious Balcony

Deciding which cabin to select for a cruise can be difficult. For our Bahamas cruise on Adventure of the Seas, we booked a guaranteed balcony stateroom. A few weeks prior to sailing, the cruise line assigned us cabin 7232 located on the starboard side of the ship. Reviewing the deck plans, this balcony is considered a Spacious Ocean View Balcony (a 4B Category stateroom). For cruisers comparing different options on the ship, we have put together this Adventure of the Seas Spacious Ocean View Balcony Cabin Review.

We first sailed on Adventure of the Seas back in 2015 with family. For that trip, we booked a Promenade View stateroom. When we heard that Adventure of the Seas would be the first to resume cruising from Royal Caribbean, we knew we had to get back on the ship.

On the day bookings went on sale, we had a travel agent secure a guaranteed (GTY) cabin for us on the first sailing on June 12th.

For those who are unfamiliar with this type of cabin, it basically secures you a certain type of stateroom at a reduced cost. While it does save you money, you are not able to pick your exact stateroom location. The cruise line will assign you a cabin prior to your sail date.

By booking a GTY balcony, we knew we would be assigned at least a balcony cabin somewhere on the ship. If you are picky about room location, this might not be the right option for you.

According to Royal Caribbean’s website, Adventure of the Seas’ Spacious Ocean View Balcony cabins are 188 square feet. This is in comparison to a standard ocean view balcony which measures 162 square feet. The balcony itself is a total area of 42 square feet.

Layout of an Adventure of the Seas Spacious Ocean View Balcony Cabin

This stateroom has a very typical setup for Royal Caribbean to which we have grown accustomed. The room has the more modern color motif for the carpet, décor, and linens.

Upon entering the room, the closet and desk area were to our left (forward) with the bed closer to the balcony. The bathroom and sofa were to our right (facing aft).

Although the desk area and storage did not look new, the love seat was an updated piece of furniture.

Inside the Adventure of the Seas Spacious Ocean View Balcony

The bathroom on the Adventure of the Seas Spacious Ocean View Balcony is pretty typical. There is a cylinder-shaped shower with a sliding door and a strategically designed sink and toilet area.

The closet is located across from the bathroom. For seven days, it provided just enough space to hold all our clothes between the hangers and several shelves off to one side.

Beyond the bathroom and closet is a sitting area with a love seat. This space usually becomes our storage area during the cruise. Likewise, we use magnetic hooks to hang things like beach bags and hats on the wall over the couch for extra storage and convenience.

Across from the couch is the usual desk with a large mirror and plenty of cabinet space. The desk is always multi-purpose for us. We use it as a charging area, blogging station, and a spot for the Princess to get ready.

Off to the side of the desk is a small flat-screen television that can be positioned to watch from the bed or couch. Below the television, there is also a small refrigerator that we used to keep our bottles of water cold.

The bed in this Adventure of the Seas Spacious Ocean View Balcony Cabin Review is located adjacent to the balcony. The bed provided adequate comfort during our trip.

In recent years, we have come to book mostly balcony cabins. We enjoy being able to watch early morning sunrises and sail-ins while getting ready for the day. Likewise, we like being able to sip a morning coffee or afternoon drink on the balcony while listening to the ocean waves.

On Adventure of the Seas, the balcony is a traditional size with two chairs and a small table. Unfortunately, the design of this balcony has a somewhat closed-off feel.

Unlike newer balconies that are built as an exterior space, these feel like they are carved into the side of the ship. However, the seating area did feel a bit roomier than other balconies we have stayed in on other Royal Caribbean cruise ships.

Recap of Adventure of the Seas Spacious Ocean View Balcony Review

Similar to our experiences on other ships in this class, the Adventure of the Seas Spacious Ocean View Balcony was the perfect mix of size and value. The bed was comfortable, and the space was adequate.

Our stateroom had easy access to the dining and entertainment venues which were just a few decks below us. Not to mention, it was a short elevator ride to the pool deck which was a few decks above us.

In addition, we loved the convenience of being near the stairs and elevator. The reduced capacity on the vessel meant we never had an issue getting an elevator.

This comfortable, convenient, and affordable balcony cabin was the ideal home away from home for us on this first Royal Caribbean cruise in North America on Adventure of the Seas.
