Quantum of the Seas Staterooms Review: The Inside Cabin

In keeping with our typical trend, we booked an interior stateroom for our sailing on Quantum of the Seas this January 2015. We tend to be a bit frugal when it comes to cabins as we really don’t spend all that much time in our room and prefer to afford our finances elsewhere ie. drink packages, shore excursions, etc. Our first impression when entering the room was that the cabin was laid out more like a traditional balcony stateroom, with the bed off to the side, instead of positioned up against the inside wall.

The interior staterooms on Quantum of the Seas are even more different than most interior staterooms however, as they house high-definition screens that span floor to ceiling, providing real-time views of the ocean and destinations. See our full review of these virtual balconies here. We were not expecting much from these virtual balconies, but we were pleasantly surprised as they did enhance our Quantum of the Seas stateroom.

Our large interior stateroom, 10207, was well appointed with a Royal King bed, sitting area with sofa, and full bathroom. The Quantum of the Seas staterooms, specifically the Large Interior category measure a complete 178 sq ft.

The room lay-out seemed to add a bit more space than some of the other ship lay-outs we have experienced in the past. Someone could easily be sitting on the sofa while the other sat at the desk, still allowing for walking room.

The bathroom also had a modern and somewhat more spacious feel as well, with plenty of storage areas.

There were also 2 closets, 2 over the bed storage bins, and 5 dresser drawers allowing for plenty of extra storage space as well. A nice feature in the larger closet were storage areas attached to the inside of the door perfect for placing shoes and other small accessories.

The one difference we noted were that the mini-fridges were locked. We typically remove some of the bar items to allow for room to keep our bottles of water, wine, etc.  but were unable to do so on this cruise. Our room attendant may have been able to accommodate that request but we didn’t even bother asking as it wasn’t that big of a deal for us.

All said and done, the large interior stateroom is a great value with adequate space and storage, with the added perk of a virtual balcony!
