The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection’s second ultra-luxury cruise vessel, Ilma, has arrived in the Mediterranean. The ship arrived in Lisbon on July 31st for a stopover that’s part of a series of preparation voyages ahead of her maiden cruise, which is scheduled for September 2nd out of Monte Carlo, Monaco.

The Port of Lisbon held a ceremony to mark Ilma‘s first visit to the Portuguese capital, during which it presented the captain with the traditional plaque to celebrate the ship’s first time at the port.

Ilma, which is named after a Maltese word meaning “water,” was designed and built to extremely high standards of luxury in terms of guest experience, technical innovation, and craftsmanship.

Reaffirming the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection’s commitment to implementing more sustainable practices, Ilma features four dual-fuel engines that use liquefied natural gas as the main fuel source. They have a modular design that allows conversion to accommodate new fuels in the future if needed. Ilma is also equipped with the most modern energy efficiency measures and advanced water treatment systems.

The second vessel for the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, Ilma was constructed at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint Nazaire, France. It comes in at 46,750 gross tons and features 224 cabins — all with balconies. The yacht offers one of the highest crew/passenger ratios in the cruise industry, with 374 crew and the capacity for 448 passengers.

Onboard, guests will be able to enjoy five restaurants, seven bars, a wine cellar, a swimming pool, three fitness spaces, an expanded Marina with a mezzanine, and The Ritz-Carlton Spa with 11 treatment rooms.

Ilma follows the cruise brand’s first vessel, Evrima, which debuted in 2023. A third yacht, Luminara, is scheduled to debut in 2025.
