The Disney Cruise Line fleet is growing and, currently, Disney Wish is the largest ship sailing! While there’s a lot to see on this state-of-the-art cruise ship, there’s also a lot to eat! With three main dining rooms that guests rotate through during their voyage and even more quick service and buffet options, you won’t find any shortage of options. But, if you want to get away from the crowds (and maybe even your own kids), there’s one restaurant you’ll want to consider – Palo Steakhouse.
Palo Steakhouse is one of two adult-only restaurants on the Disney Wish. This specialty restaurant was reimagined for the ship as a steakhouse (compared to the Palo restaurants onboard the Disney Magic, Wonder, Dream, and Fantasy). The signature restaurant offers a unique blend of authentic Italian dining and modern steakhouse cuisine, all set in a beautiful dining room with designs inspired by Cogsworth from Beauty and the Beast and spectacular ocean views.
Reservations at Palo Steakhouse are highly sought after. So, we made sure to book our reservation as soon as the dining booking window opened for our cruise! Would we return for more in the future? Get ready to find out in our brand-new Disney Wish Palo Steakhouse restaurant review.

Palo Steakhouse on Disney Wish: Restaurant Review
Inside Palo Steakhouse on Disney Wish
Located on Deck 12 AFT, you’ll enter the elegant adult-only area of the ship via The Rose lounge. This lounge is a great place to relax and enjoy a cocktail or glass of wine before or after your meal. With decorations that are reminiscent of the enchanted castle from Beauty and the Beast, it really sets the tone for the rest of your dining experience inside Palo Steakhouse.
As you continue into The Rose, you’ll find a small check-in area for the restaurant on the left. It is worth noting that there is a dress code at Palo Steakhouse. Men should wear dress pants or slacks, collared shirts, and dress shoes. While women should wear dresses, skirts, or dress pants with a blouse. Jeans, shorts, flip-flops, or sneakers are not allowed. So, be sure to pack appropriately for your cruise!
As soon as you step foot into Palo Steakhouse on Disney Wish, you’ll notice that the Beauty and the Beast theming from The Rose continues on in a slightly different way. Inspired by the character Cogsworth in the movie, the atmosphere and theming of the restaurant feature ornate clocks, pendulums, and gears adorning the walls and decor.
Once you’re seated at your table, you’ll notice that each table is set with elegant silverware, fine china, and sparkling wine glasses. And, you’ll almost immediately be welcomed by your server who will provide you with menus and answer any initial questions that you have. Our server even asked us if we were planning to attend any other events that evening to ensure we would be finished on time.
Palo Steakhouse Dinner Menu
Palo Steakhouse on Disney Wish offers both a Prix Fixe menu and an A La Carte Menu. The Prix Fixe menu is $45 per guest and includes four courses: antipasta (appetizer), insalata (salad), il secondo (entrée), and dolce (dessert). This menu allows you to choose from a smaller pre-selected menu including options like calamari, pan-seared salmon, beef tenderloin, and tiramisu.
The A La Carte menu offers a wider variety of options, including appetizers, salads, soups, pastas, and entrees. Some popular dishes include the lobster ravioli, the filet mignon, and the lamb chops. The A La Carte menu also offers a selection of sides, including truffle mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach. Unlike the Prix Fixe menu, you can order as much or as little as you want. Of course, you’ll just pay for what you get.
Regardless of which menu you choose, you can expect high-quality ingredients and expert preparation. The restaurant’s chefs use only the freshest ingredients, with each dish cooked to perfection.
The restaurant also offers an extensive wine list, featuring both Italian and American wines. If you choose the Prix Fixe menu, you can add on the Esperienza del Vino for an additional $70. Any wine or cocktails you order with the A La Carte menu are as priced.

What We Ate at Palo Steakhouse on Disney Wish
Now it’s time that we dig into what we ate during our meal at Palo Steakhouse! We opted for the A La Carte menu, which let us order anything off the menu. (Though, we did also ask for something off the menu too!)
To start off our meal, we were presented with the Mushroom Amuse Bouche. This isn’t on the menu and comes compliment of the chef as a way to set the tone for the rest of your meal. It is a sweet potato puff on mushroom sauce. While it isn’t overflowing with flavor, we enjoyed it as a starter.
The bread service also arrived shortly after the Mushroom Amuse Bouche. It featured three different types of bread. This is one way that Palo Steakhouse is similar to Palo restaurants on other Disney Cruise Line ships, as they serve the same bread!
Then it was time for our appetizer! We ordered the Heirloom Tomato, Burrata Mozzarella Caprese from the Antipasti & Zuppa portion of the menu. It features tomato, mozzarella, basil pesto, and aged balsamic vinegar. The tomatoes tasted super fresh and paired very well with the pesto, balsamic, and mozzarella flavors making for a delicious and light appetizer. We even dipped some of the bread into the basil pesto!
For our main course, we ordered three dishes including the Agnolotti, Roasted Free-Range Lemon and Thyme Chicken, and the Grape and Gorgonzola Flatbread Pizza (which is part of the secret menu).
The Agnolotti is one of the best-known dishes at Palo Steakhouse. It features butternut squash, buffalo mozzarella, amaretti, sage-brown butter, and basil. So, it’s basically a kind of butternut squash ravioli. The pasta was perfectly cooked, and the filling was flavorful, smooth, and savory. The sage-brown butter and basil only added to the rich flavors of the dish. It ended up being one of our favorite dishes of the entire cruise!
The Roasted Free-Range Lemon and Thyme Chicken, served with roasted baby vegetables, garlic, potatoes, and chianti thyme sauce, also impressed us. The chicken was moist and very well flavored and everything on the side complimented the dish perfectly.
And, lastly, we asked if the chef was able to make the Grape and Gorgonzola Flatbread Pizza. To our surprise – yes, they could! Usually, this secret menu item is only available during brunch at Palo Steakhouse. But they made a special exception since our reservation was right at 6PM when the restaurant opened for dinner.
This pizza features red grapes, Gorgonzola cheese, and a port wine sauce. And, before you start saying that grapes don’t belong on a pizza, give it a try! The sweetness from the fruit makes for a unique flavor combination with the gorgonzola and sauce that you surely won’t forget (or regret!).
To end our meal, we got the best-known dessert at Palo Steakhouse – the Chocolate Souffle! This chocolate souffle is topped with Madagascan vanilla bean gelato, chocolate sauce, and vanilla anglaise. This treat is rich and chocolatey and has a great fluffy texture. We recommend letting your server prepare it for you at the table before you dive in. Then, you can add in as much sauce as you want as you go!
Overall Rating
If you’re looking for a sophisticated and upscale dining experience away from the kids during your Disney Wish cruise, Palo Steakhouse is definitely worth a visit. With its elegant decor, attentive service, and delicious food, it’s no wonder why this restaurant is a favorite among many Disney cruisers.
The restaurant’s Beauty and the Beast-inspired theme is subtle yet charming. The ambiance is perfect for a romantic dinner or a special occasion. The menu is a fusion of authentic Italian and modern steakhouse cuisine, with plenty of options to satisfy any palate.
Aside from the food, the service at Palo Steakhouse is one of the things that really makes it stand out. The staff is top-notch, with attentiveness and knowledge that will make you feel like a celebrity. They take the time to learn your preferences and are a wealth of information if you have any questions.
If the staff isn’t noteworthy enough, the food is even more so. Whether you opt for the Prix Fixe menu or A La Carte menu, you’re sure to find something that you love. And it’s going to be expertly prepared and presented. In fact, our meal at Palo Steakhouse ended up being our favorite among all the restaurants we ate at during our cruise!
While the length of time it takes to dine at Palo Steakhouse can be on the longer side (usually around 2-3 hours), it’s well worth the investment of time.
So, we think that Palo Steakhouse is definitely worth checking out if you don’t mind paying for an extra meal onboard Disney Wish. We will definitely be back again!
