Our Complete Utopia of the Seas Restaurants Guide With Menus

The biggest weekend cruise is filled with dining options, and we cover them all in our Utopia of the Seas restaurants guide with menus.

Our Complete Utopia of the Seas Restaurants Guide With Menus

Utopia of the Seas is the newest ship in the Royal Caribbean fleet sailing epic weekend cruises from Port Canaveral, Florida. Along with several Oasis class staples, Utopia is also home to some new and reimagined spaces. We’ve just returned from the ship’s inaugural voyage and are back to share all the dining details with you in our complete guide to the Utopia of the Seas restaurants with menus.

Complimentary Utopia of the Seas Restaurants

When it comes to complimentary dining, Utopia has several options that are included in your Royal Caribbean cruise fare. These include the main dining room and the popular Windjammer buffet. There are many other casual spots as well, including favorites like Sorrento’s pizzeria, El Loco Fresh, and Park Café, along with some new spots like the Spare Tire food truck.

Further, suite guests have access to the exclusive restaurant, Coastal Kitchen, for breakfast, lunch, and dinner in addition to all the other options listed below.

Main Dining Room (Decks 3, 4, and 5)

The 3-story main dining room on Utopia of the Seas offers the traditional cruise dining experience with an early and late seating along with the more flexible My Time Dining option. Deck 3 is for My Time Dining guests and also has a First Seating at 5 PM.

With My Time Dining, guests can dine whenever they like; however, they will not have the same table or waitstaff each evening. Even if you have My Time Dining, you can pre-reserve your dining times in the app before your cruise and we highly recommend you do so. My Time Dining is available from 6:45 to 9 PM.

Deck 4 and Deck 5 of the Main Dining Room offer a First Seating at 5 PM and a Second Seating at 7:30 PM. Here, guests will be assigned to a table for the duration of the cruise and will have the same waitstaff every evening.

Regardless of whether you opt for traditional dining or My Time Dining, the dinner menus are the same. These options do rotate each evening. However, on these shorter cruises, there is no “lobster night”.

The order of the menus may change based on your ports of call, so we suggest you check the Royal Caribbean app for the rotation specific on your sailing. However, in general, the 3-day cruise rotation is Welcome Aboard, Taste of the Caribbean, and Bon Voyage. The 4-day sailing also includes the Taste of France menu.

On Utopia of the Seas, the MDR on Deck 3 is also open for breakfast from 7 to 9 AM. On a short 3-day cruise, there is no lunch in the main dining room.

Sorrento’s Pizza (Deck 5)

Sorrento’s is the Royal Caribbean pizza spot located on Deck 5 in the Royal Promenade on Utopia of the Seas. This quick service venue is open from 11 AM to 2 or 3 AM.

Sorrento’s serves up slices of classic favorites like pepperoni and cheese in addition to daily specialty pizzas. It’s the perfect midnight snack after enjoying all the late night fun during the world’s biggest weekend.

Café Promenade (Deck 5)

Open 24 hours a day, Café Promenade is your go-to spot for snacks and coffee any time of day. Serving up breakfast pastries, sandwiches, cookies, and other small desserts, you will never go hungry.

Located on the Promenade, this Café is a great place to grab a table and people watch as well.

Like most Royal Caribbean ships, specialty coffee is available at Café Promenade, which now proudly brews Starbucks. These espresso-based drinks are included in the Deluxe Beverage Package or the Café Select coffee card.

Park Café (Deck 8)

Located in the Central Park neighborhood on all Oasis Class ships, Park Café offers quick service breakfast and lunch items. The venue is open for breakfast most days from around 6:30 to 10:30 AM and for lunch from around 12 to 5:30 PM and reopens from 6 to 10 PM similar to Icon of the Seas.

For breakfast, you can enjoy hot sandwiches, oatmeal, a bagel bar, fresh fruit cups, and more. In the afternoon, you can enjoy fresh paninis, custom salads, or the famous Royal Kummelweck sandwich.

This venue is the perfect alternative to the busy Windjammer buffet for a lighter breakfast or lunch.

Solarium Bistro (Deck 15)

The Solarium Bistro is another one of the complimentary Utopia of the Seas restaurants. Located adjacent to the adult-only Solarium, this venue serves buffet-style options for breakfast and lunch.

Solarium Bistro is open for breakfast daily from around 6:30 to 10:30 AM and for lunch on select days from around 12 to 3 PM.

Additionally, the Solarium Bistro is open for dinner from 5 to 9 PM. The menu consists of a Mediterranean-inspired appetizer buffet along with plated entrées like salmon, chicken, or lamb.

Cruisers can make reservations for dinner at the Solarium Bistro pre-cruise using the online cruise planner or once onboard the ship.

Sprinkles (Deck 15)

In addition to all the other snacks you can enjoy around the ship, there is also the poolside ice cream station. Sprinkles offers soft serve selections throughout the day from 10 or 11 AM to 9 PM.

The Spare Tire (Deck 15)

Located on the pool deck of Utopia of the Seas, The Spare Tire is a new food truck concept for Royal Caribbean. It features quick service snacks like tornados, chicken sandwiches, and mini cheesecake churros. These items are complimentary from 11 AM to 5:30 PM daily.

Utopia of the Seas cruise review

Honestly though, they felt like microwave selections so we definitely didn’t return to this spot. It’s too bad as we had high hopes for this new concept. We were hoping for a Carnival Street Eats meets Perfect Day at CocoCay Snack Shack.

Windjammer Marketplace (Deck 15)

If you have cruised on Royal Caribbean before, then you are very familiar with the Windjammer Marketplace. This casual, complimentary buffet is open most of the day serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

For breakfast (approximately 6/6:30 AM to 11 AM), you can find your typical selections including fruits, breakfast pastries, cereals, and hot menu items such as scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausage, along with an omelet station.

For lunch (approximately 11:30 AM to 3 PM), you will find a selection of salads, cold cuts and sandwiches, grilled items, and other hot dishes and international cuisine which vary slightly each day of the cruise.

At dinner (approximately 5:30 to 9 PM), you will find similar standard selections as lunch, along with themed nights. On the 3-day sailing, the themed nights were: All American Classics, Flavors Across the Caribbean, and Flavors of India.

El Loco Fresh (Deck 16)

El Loco Fresh is your Mexican eatery on Royal Caribbean ships. This outdoor venue serves up grab-and-go options nearby the sports deck on Utopia of the Seas. Guests can grab tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and nachos with a custom salsa bar. There’s also the adjacent Cantina Fresca to quench your thrist.

El Loco Fresh is open around 11 AM to 6 PM, except on the ship’s visit to Perfect Day at CocoCay when it opens at 2 PM.

Specialty Utopia of the Seas Restaurants

While you don’t have to spend money on food while cruising on Utopia of the Seas, there are quite a few up-charge restaurants that might be worth the splurge. If you are considering dining at a few of these venues, you might want to purchase a dining package.

Royal Caribbean’s pricing is dynamic and changes based on ship, time of year, etc. On our 3-day Utopia of the Seas cruise, the Unlimited Dining package was $194.99 with a 30% pre-cruise discount making it $135.99.

Further, if you plan to dine at any of these Utopia of the Seas restaurants, you should make reservations pre-cruise, as popular dining times do fill up quickly.

Utopia of the Seas restaurants

On the 3-day cruise, all specialty restaurants are open for dinner nightly; however, most will not be open for lunch/brunch. Since there is a sea day on the 4-day itinerary, some of these venues will open for lunch as well as dinner.

During our sailing, we decided to dine at all specialty restaurants. We enjoyed The Mason Jar, Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen, and the new Royal Railway – Utopia Station.

Royal Railway – Utopia Station (Deck 4)

Perhaps the most talked about addition to the Utopia of the Seas restaurants lineup is the Royal Railway. This immersive experience takes the place of Izumi on Wonder of the Seas.

This family-friendly dining adventure combines dinner and a show. With the use of high-tech digital screens and a perfectly themed venue, guests embark on a journey through the American Frontier during this one-of-a-kind meal. It starts with a pre-dinner drink at the station platform. Guests are then summoned to board the dining car for their multi-sensory dinner experience. Just be on the lookout for bandits.

While traveling through the Wild West via digital screens, guests enjoy themed menu items like the Outlaw Bread Cart, Fart & Dart Baked Beans, Braised Short Ribs, Roasted Poussin, and a Royal Railway Cigar dessert. All the while, a story is unfolding around you with live skits in the train car aisle, announcements on the PA from the engineer, and buffalo darting past the “windows”.

The Royal Railway is open for dinner at two set times each evening at 6 and 8:30 PM. The introductory price is $74.99 but will increase to $119 for adults and $24.99 for kids.

While this is a fun, family-friendly experience, we think Royal Caribbean needs to work on the timing a bit. We felt rushed; we didn’t have enough time to enjoy our meal and still take in everything happening around us. Honestly, we barely ate half of any course before it was carted away.

Sugar Beach (Deck 6)

If the soft serve by the pool deck isn’t enough to satisfy your ice cream craving, you have more options at the Sugar Beach ice cream window on the Boardwalk. However, these selections will cost you extra money.

You can order up your favorite flavor in a cup or cone. Or, you can choose a signature sundae. Sugar Beach also sells a variety of candy to give the kids even more energy.

Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade (Deck 6)

The fan-favorite sports bar on Royal Caribbean ships, Playmakers, has found its way onto Utopia of the Seas as well. The Boardwalk on the Oasis-class ships is the perfect spot for this family-friendly venue.
