Wonder of the Seas Restaurant Guide With Menus

Complimentary Wonder of the Seas Restaurants

There are several dining options that are included in your cruise fare with Royal Caribbean. These include the main dining room, the popular Windjammer buffet, and many other casual options. With so many great offerings, you certainly do not have to pay extra for dining (if you don’t want to). Though, this new ship also offers a variety of specialty restaurants that are worth a try.

Wonder of the Seas Restaurant Guide With Menus

If you are staying in a suite, you will have access to the exclusive restaurant, Coastal Kitchen, for breakfast, lunch, and dinner in addition to all the other options listed below.

Main Dining Room (Decks 3, 4, and 5)

The 3-story main dining room on Wonder of the Seas offers the traditional cruise dining experience with the early seating at 5:30 pm and the late seating at 8 pm.

Cruisers can also opt for My Time Dining which is available from 6:30 pm to 9 pm daily. With this option, you can dine whenever you like; however, you will not have the same table or waitstaff each evening.

Regardless of whether you opt for traditional dining or My Time Dining, the dinner menus are the same. These options do rotate each evening, with a set list of Classics dishes available every night.

On a traditional 7-night cruise, there will be two formal nights with “lobster night” taking place on the second formal night. The order of the menus and when these formal nights occur vary based on the itinerary. Generally, the two formal nights fall on your itinerary’s sea days.

The MDR also serves breakfast most mornings from around 7/8 am to 8:30/9:30 am and lunch on sea days (or late arrival port days) from around 11:30 am to 1 pm. On our sailing, the MDR was open for lunch on days 2, 4, 5, and 6.

Below is a list of menus from our recent 7-day Eastern Caribbean cruise on Wonder of the Seas. If you are looking for the specific menu rotation on your sailing, check the Royal Caribbean app for all the details.

Sorrento’s Pizza (Deck 5)

Sorrento’s is the Royal Caribbean pizza spot located on deck 5 in the Royal Promenade on Wonder of the Seas.

This quick service venue is open most days from 11:30 am to 3 am. This venue serves up slices of classic favorites like pepperoni and cheese in addition to daily specials. You can also create your own custom pizza pie.

Additionally, there is a small antipasto bar with a variety of appetizers.

Café Promenade (Deck 5)

Open 24 hours a day, Café Promenade is your go-to spot for snacks and coffee any time of day. Serving up breakfast pastries, sandwiches, cookies, and other small desserts, you will never go hungry.

Located on the Promenade, this Café is a great place to grab a table and people watch as well.

Wonder of the Seas Restaurant Guide

Like most Royal Caribbean ships, specialty coffee is available at CafĂ© Promenade, which now proudly brews Starbucks. These espresso-based drinks are included in the Deluxe Beverage Package or the CafĂ© Select coffee card. However, drinks at the stand alone Starbucks in the Promenade are NOT included.

The menu on Wonder of the Seas is more limited than other Café Promenade venues in the fleet.

Vitality Café (Deck 6)

The Vitality Café, located in the Spa, offers healthy light bites from 6:30 am to 9 pm daily. These complimentary items include homemade granola bars, small muffins, and finger foods.

Fresh juices and smoothies are also on the menu for your pre- or post- workout needs, which are included in the Deluxe Beverage Package.

Boardwalk Dog House (Deck 6)

The Dog House located in the Boardwalk neighborhood on Wonder of the Seas is the perfect stop for a midday snack.

This stand is open most of the afternoon and early evening (most days 11:30 am to 6 pm). It features 4 varieties of dogs and sausages, along with select toppings and small sides like potato salad.

Park Café (Deck 8)

Located in the Central Park neighborhood on all Oasis Class ships, Park Café offers quick service breakfast and lunch items. The venue is open for breakfast most days from around 7 to 11 am and for lunch from around 12 to 6 pm.

For breakfast, you can enjoy hot sandwiches, oatmeal, a bagel bar, fresh fruit cups, and more. In the afternoon, you can enjoy fresh paninis, custom salads, or the famous Royal Kummelweck sandwich.

Wonder of the Seas Restaurant Guide

This venue is the perfect alternative to the busy Windjammer buffet. However, unlike other Oasis Class ships, there is no coffee counter in Park Café to order espresso-based drinks on Wonder of the Seas. There is still a Coke Freestyle machine in the venue.

Solarium Bistro (Deck 15)

The Solarium Bistro is another complimentary restaurant option on Wonder of the Seas. Located adjacent to the Solarium on deck 15, this venue serves buffet-style options for breakfast and lunch including a custom omelet station.

Solarium Bistro is open for breakfast daily around 7:30 to 10:30 am and for lunch on select days from around 12 to 3 pm.

Additionally, the Solarium Bistro is open for dinner from 5 to 9:30 pm. The menu consists of a Mediterranean-inspired appetizer buffet along with plated entrées like salmon, chicken, or lamb.

Cruisers can make reservations for dinner at the Solarium Bistro pre-cruise using the online cruise planner or once onboard the ship.

Additionally, the Chef’s Table is an up-charge experience that takes place in the Solarium at 6 pm on select evenings.

Solarium Bistro Menu

Windjammer Marketplace (Deck 15)

If you have cruised on Royal Caribbean before, then you are very familiar with the Windjammer Marketplace. However, you might notice that it’s location is a bit different than other Oasis Class ships. It is now located aft on deck 15 rather than deck 16. Wonder of the Seas is also home to the largest Windjammer in the fleet.

This casual, complimentary buffet is open most of the day. The Windjammer typically serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. However, since COVID, the Windjammer has been inconsistently open for dinner across the fleet depending on the particular sailing’s capacity. Given that our Wonder of the Seas sailing was over 70% capacity, the Windjammer was open nightly for dinner.

For breakfast (approximately 6:30 am-11 am), you can find your typical selections including fruits, breakfast pastries, cereals, and hot menu items such as scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausage.

For lunch (approximately 11:30 am to 3 pm), you will find a selection of salads, cold cuts and sandwiches, grilled items, and other hot dishes and international cuisine which vary slightly each day of the cruise.

At dinner (approximately 5:30 to 9 pm), you will find similar standard selections as lunch, along with themed nights such as Flavors of India.

Sprinkles (Deck 15)

In addition to all the other snacks you can enjoy around the ship, there is also the poolside ice cream station. Sprinkles offers soft serve selections throughout the day from 9 am to 9 pm.

El Loco Fresh (Deck 16)

A relatively new casual food venue on Royal Caribbean ships, El Loco Fresh offers tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and nachos with a custom salsa bar.

This Mexican restaurant on Wonder of the Seas has been relocated up to deck 16. Also new on this ship, El Loco Fresh features its own bar.

This new watering hole, Cantina Fresca, serves up a specialty drink menu featuring a selection of “aguas frescas,” margaritas, and other Mexican staples.

This Mexican venue is open midday for lunch starting around 11:30 am and remaining open until 6 pm depending on ports of call. Unlike some of our previous sailings on Oasis Class ships, El Loco Fresh was not open for breakfast.

Specialty Restaurants on Wonder of the Seas

While Royal Caribbean does offer a number of complimentary dining venues, its cruise ships also feature a number of specialty restaurants. These restaurants do all have up-charges; though, they are certainly worth it.

If you plan to dine at a few of these venues, the Unlimited Dining Package is a good value. The only downside to this plan is that you can not make your dining reservations pre-cruise; you can only do so once onboard the ship. Unfortunately, popular restaurant reservations do fill up quickly.

Izumi Hibachi & Sushi (Deck 4)

Izumi is a Royal Caribbean fan favorite offering Asian-inspired teppanyaki, sushi, and other far east flavors. The Hibachi experience has a flat fee for the four-course meal. At Izumi Sushi, guests can pay a la carte or select the prix-fixe meal option which includes 1 small plate, 2 large plates, and a dessert.

Izumi is open nightly for dinner from 5 to 9:30 pm. The venue is also open on select days for lunch from 11:30/12 to 1/1:30 pm.

We dined at Izumi Sushi for the first time on Wonder of the Seas and are glad we did. The menu features more than just sushi to accommodate everyone in your travel party. I particularly liked the udon noodles.

Starbucks (Deck 5)

Just like the popular coffee shop on land, Wonder of the Seas has its own Starbucks serving up all your favorite drinks. From lattes to iced teas, refreshers, and frappuccinos, your handcrafted beverage awaits you. However, they will cost you extra money.

Beverages at Starbucks are priced a la carte and are not included in the deluxe beverage package or the Café Select coffee card.

This kiosk also offers many of the brand’s classic food items, also at a la carte pricing.

Starbucks is located in the Royal Promenade and is open daily from 6:30 am to 11 pm.

Sugar Beach (Deck 6)

If the soft serve by the pool deck isn’t enough to satisfy your ice cream craving, you have more options at the Sugar Beach ice cream window on the Boardwalk. However, these selections will cost you extra money.

You can order up your favorite flavor in a cup or cone. Or, you can choose a signature sundae.

Playmakers Sports Bar and Arcade (Deck 6)

The new fan-favorite sports bar on Royal Caribbean ships, Playmakers has found its way onto Wonder of the Seas. The Boardwalk on the Oasis Class ships is the perfect spot for this family-friendly venue.

Wonder of the Seas Restaurant Guide

Playmakers is home to a large collection of televisions broadcasting games from around the world. It also serves up a variety of game time food favorites along with a wide selection of beer. The a la carte menu features items like chicken wings, nachos, an onion ring tower, and the signature Playmakers burger.

This venue serves food most days from around noon to 11 pm (opening later on some port days).

Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen (Deck 8)

One of our new favorite Royal Caribbean specialty restaurants, Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen, has found a home on Wonder of the Seas.

Taking the place of either Jamie’s Italian or Giovanni’s Table on other Oasis Class ships, this restaurant is located in the Central Park neighborhood on Wonder of the Seas.

This rustic venue serves up all the Italian classics. The menu features made-to-order pizzas prepared in an open kitchen concept, classic pasta dishes, mouth-watering entrées and desserts, and complimentary limoncello.

There is even a small a la carte food menu at the adjacent Giovanni’s Wine bar (replacing Vintages).

Giovanni’s is open daily 5 to 9:30 pm for dinner and on select days from 11:30/12 to 1/1:30 pm for lunch. The Wine Bar serves up food most nights from either noon or 3 pm to 11 pm.

Chops Grille (Deck 8)

Chops Grille is the Royal Caribbean signature steakhouse. If you are looking for a perfectly seared cut of beef, then you will want to head to this venue also located in Central Park on Wonder of the Seas. Chops Grille makes for the perfect date night.

As one of the most popular specialty restaurants on Royal Caribbean ships, reservations are required to dine here; prime dinner times do fill up quickly.

Like most of the other specialty restaurants, you can make reservations prior to your cruise using the online Cruise Planner or immediately upon boarding the ship.

Chops Grille is open every night of the cruise for dinner from 5 to 9:30 pm. The restaurant is also open on select days for lunch from 11:30/12 to 1/1:30 pm.

Wonderland (Deck 12)

This whimsical restaurant on Wonder of the Seas will transport you and your taste buds on a magical journey. Here, the dinner experience is part food and part show, serving up some exquisite dishes that are just as entertaining as they are delicious.

For an up-charge, you can venture down the rabbit hole to this Alice in Wonderland themed specialty restaurant to sample some out-of-this-world menu items.

At Wonderland, your waiter will expertly guide you through the tasting menu that includes items such as liquid lobster, the bird’s nest, purple potted shrimp, short ribs, and more.

Wonderland is open nightly for dinner from 5 to 9:30 pm.

If you have never dined at this Royal Caribbean specialty restaurant, we suggest you give it a try on Wonder of the Seas.

The Mason Jar (Deck 15)

The Mason Jar is a brand new specialty restaurant on Wonder of the Seas, bringing southern cooking to the high seas. This casual venue serves up all your homestyle favorites in a farmhouse-style venue alongside live country music.

Located on the pool deck, this casual eatery is an up-charge. Though, we really enjoyed both brunch and dinner at this venue.

The Mason Jar is open nightly for dinner from 5 to 9:30 pm and for brunch on sea days from 10 am to 2 pm.

With menu options like chicken and waffles, gumbo, crab beignets, cinnamon rolls, and more, how could you not want to try this new venue at least once?

Not to mention, The Mason Jar features a large selection of whiskey and southern cocktails like the Mississippi Moonlight and PB&J Old Fashioned, as well as boozy floats and shakes.

Actually, with a great food menu, live music, and a full bar, you might find yourself spending quite a bit of time here.

Of note, you do not need a reservation to enjoy the live music or bar. You can also order select menu items at the bar.

  • My husband and I were scheduled to sail on the Wonder of the Seas, departing on November 27 of 2022. However, the day before we were to set sail, we were notified that the ship would not be docking in Florida as scheduled due to a medical emergency onboard…no further information. We were given the choice to reschedule our vacation or sail on a shortened itinerary. We chose to rebook for 2023 and are now eagerly counting down the days until we experience the new features on this ship-especially the Mason Jar restaurant and the opportunity to spend a perfect day at Coco Cay.

Will be on WONDER in January and this terrific article has been so helpful

  • Debbie Figlewski

What is the “flat fee” to eat at Johnny rockets? with the specialty dining, do you pay one flat fee and order whatever on the menu? Or is a menu with charges provides for each item? Is the grill the only specialty ding thats offered at lunchtime?

  • Just a message to say how much I love this blog post – it’s so helpful and answered every single question I had about dining 🙂 thank you!

  • Loved all the information you provided, now I am sure to enjoy everything. I have a question about the specialty restaurants. Is it possible to pick to entries if we would like to try more than one or is there an extra fee for that?

  • Do all the specialty dining serve gluten free options

  • What time are the shows? We would like to choose our own dining time, but it is difficult to do so without knowing the timing of the entertainment. We sail the Mediterranean itinerary in July on the Wonder. Thanks!
