Star of the Seas Bars Guide: Every Bar, Menu & Drink Prices on Royal Caribbean’s Newest Ship

When it comes to enjoying a drink, Royal Caribbean’s Star of the Seas offers cruisers a variety of bars and lounges. With several Royal Caribbean cruise ship staples and some brand-new to the Icon class, there are plenty of spots to make use of that Deluxe Drink Package. Cruisers can also use Crown and Anchor drink vouchers on these drinks anytime throughout the day at most bars on Star of the Seas.

If you’re wondering what’s on the menu at these bars and lounges or the Star of the Seas drink prices, you’ve come to the right place. We cover it all in our complete guide to all the Star of the Seas bars.

Star of the Seas bars

Complete Guide to All the Star of the Seas Bars With Menus

Music Hall (Decks 3&4)

The Music Hall is a rock and roll themed venue. It features two bars, one on each level, serving up musically inspired cocktails that you can sip while enjoying the sights and sounds of popular tribute bands. With hits from the likes of Journey, Bon Jovi, and more, you can certainly rock out in this venue on Star of the Seas. The Music Hall also hosts a variety of game shows and other events during the cruise.

The signature drink at this venue is the Sweet Home Alabama featuring vodka, peach puree, lemon juice, and fresh brewed tea.

Music Hall Menu

Casino Royale Bar (Deck 4)

The Casino is somewhat tucked out of the way on Star of the Seas. But if you do find yourself here for a little gambling, you’ll likely need a beverage to go along with your gaming. Lucky for you, there’s the Casino Bar.

Even if you don’t like to gamble, getting a drink here is a safe bet as this is one of the only late night bars on the ship. The casino bar is open whenever the casino is open.

Spotlight Karaoke (Deck 5)

Get ready to sing. Aptly named, Spotlight Karaoke is the karaoke bar on Star of the Seas. Luckily, this venue has a full bar with bartenders ready to provide you with a bit of liquid courage.

When cruisers are not belting out their best renditions of Sweet Caroline, the venue also hosts trivia and various other activities during the cruise.

The menu here is the same as the Music Hall, with its own signature drink, Lavender Haze. This beverage features Hendrick’s gin, lavender syrup, honey syrup, and lemon juice.

Spotlight Karaoke Menu

Starbucks (Deck 5)

Just like the popular coffee shop on land, Star of the Seas has its own Starbucks serving up all your favorite drinks. From lattes to iced teas, refreshers, and frappuccinos, your handcrafted beverage awaits you. However, they will cost you extra money.

Beverages at Starbucks are priced a la carte and are not included in the deluxe beverage package or the Café Select coffee card. Don’t worry though, you can still get Starbucks brewed espresso-based drinks at the Pearl Cafe that are included.

However, you still might want to visit this Starbucks location to purchase your Star of the Seas “Been There” mug as a souvenir.

1400 Lobby Bar (Deck 5)

Inspired by the history of shipbuilding, this bar on the Royal Promenade will make a stunning first impression as soon as you board the ship. Menu selections include fun drinks based off the history of Royal Caribbean like Viking’s Crown, The Flowrider, Rising Tides, Pink Pony, and the Fourteen Hundred.

The 1400 Lobby Bar is also the first time that the Royal Promenade has ever been open to the outdoors with an ocean-facing terrace. Now, guests can enjoy a cocktail in the lively promenade or alongside an ocean breeze.

1400 Lobby Bar Menu

Thorn & Thistle Pub (Deck 5)

In the heart of the Royal Promenade, the English-style pub is a go-to spot on any Royal Caribbean ship for a beer and some live music. On Star of the Seas, it’s no different, except Thorn & Thistle has a more open layout and some new signature cocktails joining the lineup of pints.

So, grab your crew and a brew, then settle in for a night of acoustic guitar music and lots of fun.

Thorn & Thistle Pub Menu

The Attic (Deck 6)

On Star of the Seas (and Icon of the Seas), you’ll find Royal Caribbean’s signature comedy club in a new location. While The Attic is tucked away down on deck 4 on Oasis Class ships, the venue has been shifted upstairs into the heart of the Royal Promenade and definitely feels larger than other iterations.

The Attic hosts comedy shows throughout the cruise, offered at 2 or 3 different time slots on most nights. There are usually two comedians who alternate sets and typically the early showtime is more family-friendly than the later show.

These shows require a reservation that can be made in the online cruise planner or once onboard the ship. While you’re here, you’ll definitely want to grab a drink to go along with the laughs.

Dueling Pianos (Deck 6)

A newer concept for Royal Caribbean, Dueling Pianos is the line’s first dueling piano bar, similar to Howl at the Moon found on select ships in the NCL fleet. Each evening, two talented pianists take song requests to bring high-energy performances to the Royal Promenade on Star of the Seas. So, you’ll definitely want to settle in with a drink and some friends for a lively and interactive evening in this new bar.

This is a very popular nighttime spot. So, you better get there early if you want to snag seats. Though, a nice feature is that this venue is somewhat open to the promenade, so you can stand around the exterior of the bar and still listen in on all the fun.

The specialty drink menu includes the same musically inspired cocktails as the Music Hall and Spotlight Karaoke, with the signature drink Snap, Crackle, Pop. Although, it’s likely that the bartenders won’t have the pop rocks to actually make the drink.

Dueling Pianos Menu

Pearl Cafe (Deck 6)

Open 24 hours a day, Pearl Café is your go-to spot for snacks and coffee any time. Think a similar but upgraded replacement for the typical Cafe Promenade found on other Royal Caribbean ships in the fleet.

Serving up continental breakfast items, sandwiches, salads, and small desserts that are all included in the cruise fare, you will never go hungry. There is also a complimentary coffee and tea station here, along with other beverages. Or, guests can purchase specialty coffees which are included in the Deluxe Beverage Package or the Café Select coffee card.

Located on the second level of the Promenade beside expansive windows, this Café is a great place to grab a table and people watch, enjoy a snack alongside ocean views, or perhaps check emails during your cruise.

Giovanni’s Wine Bar (Deck 6)

Giovanni’s Wine Bar on Star of the Seas is situated in front of Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen specialty restaurant on the second level of the newly expanded Royal Promenade overlooking all the action on deck 5.

With a laid-back vibe, this is a great spot to relax and grab a few appetizers while sipping a glass of wine. Giovanni’s Wine Bar also features pizza and other select items from the restaurant at a la carte prices if you want to grab a snack or a light meal.

Giovanni’s Wine Bar Menu

Boleros (Deck 6)

Despite its location and decor on Star of the Seas, Boleros is the same Latin-themed bar and lounge found on most Royal Caribbean ships. Whether you choose to relax while listening to some Latin music or partake in a dance class here, be sure to order some drinks from this venue’s specialty bar menu.

With drinks like daquiris, caipirinhas, and other rum-based cocktails, you might feel like you’ve been transported to Havana.

Boleros Menu

Schooner Bar (Deck 6)

The Schooner Bar is the Royal Caribbean nautically themed bar that is a staple on most ships. Located on the upper level of the Royal Promenade on Star of the Seas, this venue is home to various activities during the day including trivia as well as live piano music at night. Yes, despite the newly added Dueling Pianos venue, this bar still features a pianist for a more chill vibe.

The Schooner Bar’s specialty menu has been updated somewhat recently, but it still features some of our favorite cocktails, like the lavender daiquiri, along with other tasty drinks like the Toasted Marshmallow Old Fashioned.

Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade (Deck 6)

Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade is in a somewhat hidden location on Star of the Seas towards the aft of deck 6 near Absolute Zero and Adventure Ocean.

Like other iterations of this sports bar, the venue is home to a large collection of televisions broadcasting games from around the world. It also serves up a variety of game time food favorites along with a wide selection of beer. The food selections here are priced a la carte and include items like chicken wings, nachos, an onion ring tower, and the signature Playmakers burger.

Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade on Star of the Seas is also home to some arcade and tabletop games for a little friendly competition.

The Lemon Post (Deck 7)

The Lemon Post is yet another new watering hole on Star of the Seas (and Icon of the Seas). Found in the Surfside neighborhood, this open-air hangout features drinks to satisfy the kids and the adults. These unique drinks are the perfect refreshment while lounging near Splashaway Bay or the Water’s Edge Pool.

The menu includes cocktails all featuring lemonade like the Shade Thrower or the Sailor’s Delight. Kids even get their drinks in fun souvenir pouches.

Trellis Bar (Deck 8)

Located in Central Park, the Trellis Bar offers a relaxed, outdoor space to grab a drink and enjoy the serenity of the neighborhood day or night. Whether you want to grab a pre-dinner drink, enjoy the company of good friends alongside some light music in the evenings, or just marvel at the nighttime sky, the Trellis Bar is the perfect place.

The drinks are from the newly spruced up standard bar menu. The venue also serves light bites including items like mac & cheese poppers, crab cake fritters, truffled fries, and more.

Bubbles (Deck 8)

On the world’s largest ship, there is certainly no shortage of bars and lounges. Another new addition to the Icon class is a walkup champagne window in Central Park. Here, guests can enjoy mimosas, prosecco, a Bellini, and even bottles of bubbly.

It’s another great spot to grab a pre-dinner or post-dinner drink while enjoying some time outdoors.

Lou’s Jazz ‘N Blues (Deck 8)

This new spot fills the open-air Central Park with live performances of soulful classics and jazz pop tunes. Lou’s Jazz ‘N Blues invites music lovers to take it all in from indoors or as they stroll by the thousands of real plants in this lush neighborhood.

The menu features cocktails paying homage to legendary favorites like the Jazzy Saz or a Hurricane.

We were surprised to see that this venue was definitely more lively on Star of the Seas than it was when we sailed on Icon last year.

The Overlook Bar (Deck 14)

Located inside the AquaDome, The Overlook lounge features its own bar and swanky Overlook Pods where you can hangout with friends. Whether you’re relaxing and admiring the panoramic ocean views by day, or taking in an AquaTheater show by night, The Overlook Bar is just another spot to grab a drink on Star of the Seas.

This bar features the standard drink menu, along with a signature cocktail of its own, the Overlook Spritz. I have to admit, it is quite tasty and refreshing.

Rye & Bean (Deck 15)

Matching the transformational experiences in the AquaDome, this new bar offers everything from morning coffee to espresso cocktails. It’s a cozy morning hangout with endless ocean views by day. Then, it transforms into a buzzing bar nearby the AquaTheater shows at night.

If you’re a coffee lover, you’ll surely want to visit the Rye & Bean Bar on Star of the Seas. Cocktails include an espresso martini, hibiscus tea punch, coffee mai tai, and the zero proof coconut cold brew. Additionally, you can get non-alcoholic drinks like lattes and cappuccinos here that are included in the drink package and coffee card as well. These drinks are priced the same as Pearl Cafe.

Rye & Bean Menu

AquaDome Market Bar (Deck 15)

Also located in the new AquaDome neighborhood on Star of the Seas, guests can enjoy select canned drinks from the small bar in the AquaDome Market.

The AquaDome Market is a complimentary food hall featuring five unique food stalls. On Star of the Seas, these stands include:

  • Pig Out BBQ- featuring barbecue sandwiches along with mac & cheese
  • Mai Thai- serving Thai favorites
  • La Cocinita- featuring Latin American tapas like empanadas
  • Feta Mediterranean- featuring similar options to Icon like gyros
  • Creme de la Crepe- serving up delicious crepes

The Lime & Coconut Bars (Decks 15, 16 & 17)

The Lime and Coconut Bar has quickly become a fan favorite on Royal Caribbean cruise ships. As the largest cruise ship in the world, Star of the Seas has not one, not two, not three, but four Lime and Coconut bars!

You can find two bars on deck 15 in Chill Island near the Cove and Royal Bay Pools. There’s also one bar on deck 16 near the Swim & Tonic Pool and one on deck 17 near the Cloud 17 Pool.

The Lime and Coconut Bar features a signature drink menu with many tasty cocktails, including the signature Lime and Coconut drink. Not to mention, the watering hole on deck 16 serves up all frozen concoctions like the Pain Chiller. This is the first all-frozen bar on a Royal Caribbean ship!

Cantina Fresca (Deck 15)

Located adjacent to the Mexican favorite, El Loco Fresh, Cantina Fresca serves up a specialty drink menu featuring margaritas, other tequila-based cocktails, and Mexican beers. Why not try the signature Pineapple Jalapeno margarita? Or, you could opt for something more fruity while lounging poolside.

Either way, these drinks pair perfectly with lunch at El Loco Fresh or with just a day of sun and fun.

The Hideaway Bar (Deck 15)

The Hideaway is another brand-new neighborhood on Star of the Seas (and Icon of the Seas). This complimentary adults-only space is tucked away at the aft of the ship, 135 feet above the ocean. It combines the good vibes of a beach club and uninterrupted ocean views.

This neighborhood also features the first suspended infinity pool at sea. The pool is surrounded by a multilevel sun terrace with whirlpools, a variety of seating, and a dedicated bar. So, you’ll never have to go far for a drink while lounging in this oasis.

The Hideaway Bar has a specialty drink menu with cocktails like the Oh My Gawd and Bae at the Beach.

Of note, this area does lack shaded seating options and can get quite busy on a sea day.

The Hideaway Bar Menu

Swim & Tonic (Deck 16)

The Swim & Tonic Bar is another first for Royal Caribbean. If it feels like we’ve been saying this a lot, you’re right. The Icon class definitely offers the WOW factor, including the debut of the line’s first swim-up bar. And the best part is that it’s now adults-only!

This is your go-to bar while getting your chill on in Chill Island. You can grab a seat at the bar or relax on one of the in-water loungers with a cocktail in hand. Now, doesn’t that sound stellar? Just be sure to arrive early as this is one of the busiest pools on Star of the Seas.

The menu at Swim & Tonic features cocktails like a Limoncello & Tonic or a Pirate in a Coconut Tree.

Swim & Tonic Menu

Desserted Milkshake Bar (Deck 16)

Located in Thrill Island on Star of the Seas, you might almost miss the Desserted Milkshake Bar amongst all the thrills. Whether the kiddos want a traditional milkshake or adults want to indulge on a boozy concoction, how can you resist drinks with names like Oreoasis, Chocolate Castaway, or Strawberry Shipwreck?

It’s the perfect reward after conquering the Category 6 waterslides or Crown’s Edge. Milkshakes range in price from $9 to $18, plus $5 to add alcohol. Floats are also available for $7.

Note: These milkshakes are NOT included in the Royal Caribbean drink packages.

Desserted Milkshake Bar Menu

Basecamp Bar (Deck 16)

Also located in Thrill Island is Basecamp, another new-to-brand eatery found on the Icon class ships. This quick-service spot serves complimentary items like a smash burger, chicken tenders, and pretzel bites.

Of course, you won’t have to go far to grab a drink either, as there’s the adjacent Basecamp Bar. Just make sure you wait until after you take on all the nearby thrills!
