G’DAY BRISBANE: ROYAL CARIBBEAN SETS SAIL FROM QUEENSLAND FOR FIRST TIME

Queensland’s Ultimate Family Holiday Debuts as Quantum of the Seas Sets Sail on 2- to 13-night Summer Adventures to Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific

BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA, Nov. 1, 2022 – Australia’s ultimate family holiday has arrived just in time for the summer, and it marks a milestone for cruising in Australia. Today, Royal Caribbean begins its first season in Queensland with the arrival of Quantum of the Seas at the new Brisbane International Cruise Terminal.

For the first time and on Queensland’s most innovative ship, holidaymakers and their families can set their sights on a line-up of 2- to 13-night adventures and a lifetime of memories from a new gateway to the Australian coast, New Zealand and the South Pacific.

Travelers can book their adventure on Quantum on Royal Caribbean’s website.

On Quantum, holidaymakers of all ages can take their holidays to new heights on deck-defying experiences such as the North Star observation capsule that extends as high as 300 feet above the ocean and the RipCord by iFly skydiving simulator.

They can also get their adrenaline pumping with signature experiences like the FlowRider surf simulator, rock climbing wall and SeaPlex – the largest indoor activity complex at sea – which features bumper cars, a full-size sports court, roller-skating rink and more.

Families can enjoy quality time together kicking back, too, like at the H2O Zone kids aqua park and one of the many indoor and outdoor pools and whirlpools.

At night, there are more than 20 restaurants, bars and lounges to choose from, including Izumi an Asian-inspired spot with fresh sushi, sashimi and more, and Jamie’s Italian, for family-style Tuscan classics.

The perfect way to top off the night is to catch live music throughout the vibrant ship and the show-stopping entertainment at the Royal Theatre and Two70. Boasting 270-degree ocean views by day and transforming into a multidimensional theatre by night, Two70 is a transformative space where six agile Roboscreens and breathtaking performers on stage, in the air and more merge to create unimaginable visuals.

Gavin Smith, vice president and managing director, Royal Caribbean International, Australia and New Zealand said Quantum’s Brisbane debut was a significant milestone for Royal Caribbean and cruising in Australia. “Today’s arrival of Quantum of the Seas into her new homeport in Brisbane is the beginning of a new benchmark for family holidays from Queensland and throughout Australia. This is a significant day for the industry and Royal Caribbean, and we’d like to thank our loyal guests, suppliers and the wider travel industry in Australia and New Zealand for their unwavering support in the leadup to this moment and for our successful debut in Queensland.”

Through to March 2023, holidaymakers of all ages can have their pick of Quantum’s 2- to 13-night cruises that visit destinations like Airlie Beach and Cairns, Australia; Auckland and Wellington, New Zealand, as well as the picture-perfect islands of the South Pacific such as Vanuatu and New Caledonia, where guests can embrace island life.

At these destinations, guests can choose from a wide range of shore excursions, from snorkeling with turtles to kayaking the crystal-clear waters of the Pacific or setting out to explore at their own pace.

Royal Caribbean Down Under

Most recently, in Sydney, Royal Caribbean made its highly anticipated return to Australia for the first time since 2019. Ovation of the Seas arrived on Saturday, Oct. 29, to kick off the summer with holidays to Australia, New Zealand and the islands of the South Pacific.

That is just the beginning. Next year, Royal Caribbean’s summer in Australia will be packed with returning favorites, firsts and new itineraries across three award-winning ships, Quantum, Ovation and Radiance of the Seas.
