Princess Cruises Adds New Offerings to Plus and Premier Packages, Other Guests Will Incur More Fees

Princess Cruises adds several new offerings to its popular Princess Plus and Princess Premier packages. These updates will provide guests with even more inclusive options at no additional cost. These include casual dining, OceanNow delivery service, room service delivery, and express Green Lane embarkation. However, this does mean that those sailing with the Princess Standard fare will have to pay for some of these once complimentary items.

More Casual Dining Options

For voyages embarking August 12th and beyond, guests on Princess Plus and Princess Premier packages can enjoy new prix fixe dining options in the ship’s casual restaurants. These venues include Vines, Salty Dog Pub, O’Malleys, Ocean Terrace, Planks, Steamers, Alfredo’s, and GiGi’s.

The addition of new three-course, pre-fixed menus gives Plus and Premier guests more food options than ever before without any extra charges. Those sailing on Princess Standard can still enjoy the casual prix fixe dining menu for $14.99. Further, individual selections will still be available at a la carte pricing. The once complimentary pizza at Gigi’s and Alfredo’s will now incur fees for guests not sailing with a package.

“Great food is fundamental to the Princess Cruises experience,” said John Padgett, president of Princess Cruises. “By incorporating our casual dining experiences into the Princess Plus and Princess Premier packages, guests can now indulge in more memorable meals tailored to their dining style preferences without hesitation, all while enjoying unparalleled value.”

Complimentary dining options for all guests still include multi-course meals in all main dining rooms, buffet selections at World Fresh Market and Horizons Court, treats at the International Café, poolside offerings at Slice, Coffee & Cones, and more. Traditional stateroom breakfast will also still be available using the classic door hanger menus.

Access to OceanNow Service

Princess sets the bar high with its OceanNow on-demand, location-based delivery service. However, this once free option will now incur a fee. To activate this service, there will be a one-time activation fee of $14.99 per guest, per voyage. This access fee is waived for all guests sailing on Princess Plus and Princess Premier packages.

To maximize the stateroom experience, the standard $5 per delivery room service charge will also be waived for Princess Plus and Premier guests. That means no extra charges for the ease and luxury of on-demand service anywhere, anyplace, or anytime on a Princess ship.

“We take great pride in pampering our guests with friendly service and exceeding their expectations. By offering the OceanNow Service and Room Service without any additional fees to Princess Plus and Princess Premier guests, we aim to elevate their journey to an unparalleled level of comfort, indulgence and value,” said Sami Kohen, Princess vice president of food and beverage.

Seamless and Speedy Boarding with OceanReady “Green Lane”

In an effort to deliver the smoothest and fastest embarkation process in the industry, the Princess App now boasts an enhanced OceanReady process. Guests achieve express “Green Lane Status” by ensuring all travel information and documents are complete and by having the exclusive Princess Medallion delivered to their home before embarkation day. On embarkation day, they can proceed directly to the ship with no lines or hassles.

For the ultimate convenience, both Princess Plus and Princess Premier packages include complimentary Medallion delivery. For guests on Princess Standard fares, a nominal shipping fee of $10 per stateroom will be added on Medallion/Accessory orders shipped to home.

Is there any information regarding the Plus program for a 15 night cruise? Are the included dining options (Alfredo’s etc) still for two meals each like for a seven day cruise or will there be four?

  • J Adams

One of the things that is NOT mentioned is that IF you booked with Premier or Plus before the most recent update you are not eligible for Green land boarding, even if you already had it approved . It seems the new upgrades to Plus and Premier do not allow those who have prior inclusion in these programs the benefits they originally booked with and if you do not pay to upgrade to the newest plan you are ‘demoted’ alongside Cruise only bookings.
I don’t understand why Princess didn’t bother to notify agents or clients with prior purchase that they were required to ‘upgrade’ the Premier or Plus pkg to get these new aspects and their prior boarding and dining options would be degraded.
    Not good on Princess.

I think your nickel and dime policy will make many dedicated customers look elsewhere for their vacations. Charging for room service s unbelievable. I always tip for that service anyway and now with a $5.00 charge I will not be tipping. By the way, I have a cruise booked and have been charged a $10.00 shipping fee for the medalian when I should not have been charged. When will I receive that credit back? I am not clear on which “casual restaurants” will have a charge and which ones won’t. Guess I will need to go to the website and see which ones your article pertains to. As to the charge being added to our bill then recinded, how long is that going to take.? Will it be taken care of before the cruise is over or will we need to remind Princess in letters after we return home. I just wonder how long it is going to take to get the $10.00 returned that has already been an over charge. If it matters, I have purchased the premium plus package for our group so none of this will affect me for this cruise but this could be my last one.

I have only cruised twice, both this year and both with Princess. I love the fact that I can order room service at any time of the day and however, many times a day, because I’m not one to go to the dining room when I’m travelling solo. If they are now going to charge per delivery and it’s going to add quite a bit to my already steep cruise fare because I am travelling solo. My last 11 day cruise I only had two drinks so the packages are useless to me. Yes I pay for Wi-Fi and the crew appreciation but it’s not worth the cost of the packages to upgrade. I have a deposit on a round-trip Hawaii cruise for April. I may just have to rethink that now. I’m very disappointed in this news.

  • Doing the math, on a 7 day cruise where one does not drink alcohol, Princess plus is still too expensive compared to the equivalent a la carte options. For my personal preferences, if I drink four sodas a day (yikes, that’s a lot!) at $4 a pop, that’s $112 for the whole cruise. Then it’s $15 more to “activate” the OceanReady deliveries of those sodas throughout the cruise. If I then eat pizza at Alfredo’s 3 times, that’s $45 more at $15 each visit. If I want to get in the green lane and have my medallions delivered in the mail prior to the cruise (and I do!), that’s another $10 shipping fee. Finally, I’ll end up paying about $15/day in crew appreciation fees adding up to $105. Total for all of that is only $287, where as Princess Plus will cost me $420 for basically the same items on the 7 day cruise. It all just goes on the credit card registered for onboard spending, so it doesn’t make a difference to me, convenience-wise. Princess will need to bring the Plus price down to $40/day for it to be worth my while. I’ll stick with a la carte options for now.

Can not believe Princess is changing all these to Plus or premium. That is over $1100 in addition to what we are already paying. We will not be getting either of these packages. That is outrages!!

I agree! I’m done w nickel and dime of Princess
