Norwegian Cruise Line has added yet another ship to its cancellation list. We recently learned that Norwegian Breakaway would be the 12th ship in the fleet to pause and/or delay operations by at least 2 weeks. Now, Norwegian Jewel is added to Norwegian Cruise Line’s cancellation list.

Recent Norwegian Cruise Line Cancellations
The first travel advisory came on January 5th, which included cancellations and updates to resumption of service for 8 ships. The ships impacted were Norwegian Pearl, Getaway, Sky, Jade, Star, Sun, Spirit, and Pride of America.
Then, on January 11th, Norwegian Cruise Line added three additional ships to the list. This time, the impacted ships were Norwegian Dawn, Escape, and Joy.
Subsequently, just two days later on January 13th, Norwegian Breakaway made the list. Norwegian Breakaway cruise cancellations included those with embarkation dates through and including January 23, 2022.
Then, the cruise line cancelled the January 9th Norwegian Gem sailing mid-cruise. The letter to onboard guests cited COVID-related circumstances as the reason for cancellation of the reminder of their Norwegian Gem cruise. Though, there have been no further cancellations for this ship just yet.

Now, Pride of America cruise cancellations include those with embarkation dates through and including April 2, 2022.

Refunds for Recently Cancelled Cruises
Guests with a reservation on one of the affected cruises will automatically receive a refund in the original form of payment. For affected reservations paid via a previously issued Future Cruise Credit, guests will receive the full value of the FCC within 7 days.
Additionally, guests will receive a 10% off Future Cruise Credit automatically on their account. Guests can use this discount to make a booking any time through January 7, 2023 on any sailing through May 31, 2023. If guests used a previously issued 10% off FCC on this suspended reservation, they will get the FCC returned; however, they will not receive a new one.

It is great to see NCL finally agreed to reimburse guests for cancelled cruise instead of automatically applying FCC and retaning the monies paid by the guests. BUT what about those guests who had their cruises cancelled back in 2020 when COVID19 put a stop to all travel. My wife & I were originally booked on a 16 day transatlantic cruise on the Star, which was cancelled due to “Suspension of Sailing”.This was initially booked June 2019 !when cancelled we were automatically given FCC .We then booked ,for 2021 again cancelled. But cud only book 14 days, with us having to pay more money for 2021 and only to have it cancelled again . NCL is refusing to refund our money .Husband 83 and I am 72 both dealing NOW with health issues. What are our options to recover these funds????Any help would be appreciated.
