Royal Caribbeanβs Wonder of the Seas is now the largest cruise ship in the world. This 236K+ gross ton ship offers guests a plethora of onboard activities, dining options, one of a kind entertainment spaces, and so much more. After having sailed on the inaugural cruise on this ship, we put together our list of the Best Things to Do on Wonder of the Seas.
25 Free Things to Do on Wonder of the Seas
Take an Out of This World Selfie
Deck 16 on Wonder of the Seas features loungers and stadium-style seating overlooking the main pools and the large poolside screen. Here, you will also find an out of this world selfie opportunity. As one of the many unique art pieces found on Wonder of the Seas, there is an astronaut sitting in the bleachers just waiting to take a picture with you. So, smile!
Be on the lookout for other astronauts around the ship as well.
Be King of the World
If you want to feel like you are king of the world, head to the bridge wings located all the way forward off the Solarium for amazing panoramic vistas.
You will want to check out the view from both the port side and starboard side wings. Nothing beats this view! It can get quite windy here on sea days, but port days are just lovely.
Feel Like a Kid Again on the Boardwalk
Aft on Deck 6 is the popular Oasis Class neighborhood, The Boardwalk. Here, you can feel like a kid again. This unique Oasis Class neighborhood is home to Sugar Beach candy and ice cream shop, a hot dog stand, arcade games, and even a carousel!
You will also find family-friendly eateries like Johnny Rockets and Playmakers Sports Bar and Arcade. Johnny Rockets serves up fresh burgers and sandwiches with a side of fries and milkshakes for a flat fee. However, the venueβs breakfast is free. Playmakers does offer pub favorites at a la carte pricing; though, you can still enjoy a game on the big screens without paying for food or drinks.

Spend an Evening in Central Park
Central Park is one of the most unique public areas on any cruise ship. Nestled in the middle of deck 8, this Oasis Class neighborhood almost makes you forget that you are sailing on the worldβs largest cruise ship. With its lush greenery and tranquil vibe, Central Park is a great spot to spend some time day or night.
You can relax and listen to some light music in the evenings, grab a drink at the Trellis Bar, or upgrade your dinner to one of the specialty restaurants located here.
Plunge Down the Ultimate Abyss
This 10-story slide towers 150 feet above sea level, twisting and turning its way from the Sports Deck all the way down to the Boardwalk.
Brave the glass launching platform, take a seat on your mat, and enjoy the ride complete with visual and audio effects. Admittedly, the entrance is the scariest part of the slide, so donβt let all the hype scare you away from trying this novelty experience.
Zipline…on a Cruise Ship
The Zipline is also another Oasis Class staple. This is a must-try for adrenaline junkies. At over 80 feet long and 9 stories high, you will feel the rush of the wind as you zoom over the Boardwalk.
Albeit a short ride, it is worth gearing up to try at least once.
Putt a Round on the Wonder Dunes
Across from the sports court on Wonder of the Seas, there is a new and improved mini-golf course, the Wonder Dunes. This underwater themed course blends seamlessly into the play areaβs colorful and nautical vibe.
This 9-hole course is the perfect sea day activity for families of all ages.
Hang Ten on the Flowrider
Guests will find the Flowrider surf simulator on the sports deck of many Royal Caribbean ships. However, you may notice that there is only one Flowrider on Wonder of the Seas. Now, boogie boarders and surfers must share the portside Flowrider.
This surf simulator is a fun activity for cruisers of all skill levels. So, why not give it a try?
Let the Kids Discover the Wonder Playscape
While loyal Royal fans might be disappointed in the removal of the starboard Flowrider, families with young kids will enjoy its replacement, the new Wonder Playscape. This underwater-themed play area brings to life a whole new adventure for kids.
Featuring slides, climbing walls, games, and more, your little ones will love exploring this new, open-air playground.
Sample All the Complimentary Dining Options
There are several dining options that are included in your cruise fare with Royal Caribbean. These include the main dining room, the popular Windjammer buffet, and many other casual options.
We particularly enjoy all the quick-service venues on Wonder of the Seas. There are Mexican favorites at El Loco Fresh and global sausages and hot dogs at the Boardwalk Dog House. In Central Park, you can get custom salads, paninis, and the cruise lineβs exclusive Royal Kummelweck sandwich at Park CafΓ©.
Of course, there is also the popular CafΓ© Promenade, Sorrento’s Pizza, and even a small variety of health-conscious snacks at the Vitality CafΓ©.
Indulge in a Multi-Course Meal in the MDR
Traditional cruisers will enjoy the multi-course meals served in the 3-story main dining room on Wonder of the Seas. Cruisers can opt for the early seating at 5:30 pm, the late seating at 8 pm, or My Time Dining. With this option, you can dine whenever you like; however, you will not have the same table or waitstaff each evening.
Regardless of whether you opt for traditional dining or My Time Dining, the dinner menus are the same. These options do rotate each evening, with a set list of Classics dishes available every night.
The lobster and baked Alaska should not be missed!
Make a Splash on the Perfect Storm Waterslides
Like many of the newer and amplified ships in the Royal Caribbean fleet, Wonder of the Seas is home to a trio of waterslides called the Perfect Storm.
These waterslides are sure to provide some wet and wild fun during those hot Caribbean days. Whether you choose to swirl around in the bowl slide or whiz down the dual racer slides, you are bound to have a good time.
Relax by the Pools
Even though Wonder of the Seas is the fifth Oasis-class ship, it has its own unique feel and layout. One of the areas that this is perhaps the most evident is the pool deck, Deck 15.
The outdoor spaces on decks 15 and 16 have been rearranged. Now, Splashaway Bay and the Beach Pool are in the forward area near the waterslides, for a more family-friendly space. The two main pools are located a bit further aft and have been redesigned to maximum lounging space, complete with in-pool loungers. This small change makes a big different in terms of traffic flow and pool deck ambience.
Regardless of which vibe you prefer, relaxing by the pools is certainly one of the best things to do on Wonder of the Seas.
Or Spend the Day in the Adult Only Solarium
Sometimes you might just want a tranquil retreat while on vacation. Well, the adults only Solarium is your oasis at sea on Wonder of the Seas. With a cascading pool, comfy loungers, whirlpools, and a bar, you can relax sans children.
The Solarium offers uninhibited views of the ocean, with some protection from the weather. The bridge wings located all the way forward off the Solarium offer even more amazing panoramic vistas.
Go for a Run or Walk on Deck 5
With all the eating and drinking you are sure to do on your cruise, burning some extra calories is not a bad idea. Increasing your steps is one of the easiest things to do on Wonder of the Seas given the sheer size of the ship.
There are also a variety of ways to stay active including the gym, sports courts, rock climbing walls, and the deck 5 jogging track.
This track is in a much nicer location on Oasis Class ships than the typical running track on the crowded pool deck. Here, you have nothing but ocean views and open deck space. 2.4 laps around this track equals a mile.
Rock Out in the Music Hall
The Music Hall on Wonder of the Seas is a rock and roll themed venue. It offers 2 bars, one on each level, serving up musically inspired cocktails that you can sip while enjoying the sights and sounds of popular rock bands.
With plush seating, a center stage, and dance floor, this two-story venue features live music most nights during the cruise. The Music Hall is also home to various other activities. It even features a pool table on the top level.
Get Involved
Wonder of the Seas offers a variety of activities for cruisers to enjoy. These include trivia competitions, game shows, scavenger hunts, karaoke, dance classes, and more. There are also popular poolside competitions like the Sexiest Man and evening parties like the HUSH! Silent Disco and the Red Party.
Not to mention, many of these activities are family-friendly.
So, regardless of your idea of fun, be sure to get involved in all your favorite activities. You will be sure to make some lasting memories and maybe even some new friends along the way.
Track Down the Stowaway
Make it your mission to track down the elusive Stowaway Piano Player on Wonder of the Seas. This piano player transports himself throughout the ship playing for guests in a street performer style.
You never know where he might show up. So, be on the lookout for yet another unique entertainment option on this world’s largest cruise ship.
Get Ready for an inTENse Show
Yes, there are plenty of pools onboard Wonder of the Seas, but the best pool is off limits to guests. The Aqua Theater, located aft on deck 6 in the Boardwalk neighborhood, is reserved for an amazing diving show.
The new Aqua Theater show on Wonder of the Seas is inTENse. Featuring an all-female cast of acrobats, dancers, and high divers, this show is certainly high energy. While it wasn’t quite ready yet during our sailing, we were treated to a βshowcaseβ of several acts and can’t wait to see the show in its entirety.
Grab a Seat for the Show
Besides the Aqua Theater show, the main theater also hosts a variety of signature entertainment. In our opinion, no one does entertainment better than Royal Caribbean.
The first signature production show is Voices. This real world meets zoom world production features a mix of pre-recorded voices and live performers. All of the sounds and βmusicβ in the show are produced using the human voice. It was a powerful show with some of the most talented singers we have ever seen on a cruise ship, even if the screens were a bit distracting.
The second main theater show, The Effectors 2: Crash and Burn, will debut later this year. If the Effectors show on Odyssey of the Seas is any indicator, this show is sure to be a hit.
Laugh it up in the Attic
If you’re not into the typical cruise ship theater shows, that’s ok. There’s other nightly entertainment as well. You can laugh out loud almost every night of your cruise with the comedy shows in the Attic. Featuring two comedians, the Attic offers adult comedy usually at two different time slots each evening.
This is a small venue, so be sure to make your reservations early.
Laser Tag
The Clash for Crystal City is a complimentary glow in the dark laser tag game that occurs in Studio B on select days of the cruise. Gear up with your laser blaster and get ready for a family-friendly competition as you go head to head on a frozen Earth to battle for resources.
Who will come out victoriously- the Yetis or Snowshifters?
If you want to participate in this fun activity, just be sure to pack some closed-toe shoes.
Ice Skating Show
Want to skate on real ice while cruising the Caribbean? On Wonder of the Seas, you can!
On select days, Studio B is also open for free skating sessions. This is a great family-friendly activity, and no experience is necessary.
If you’d rather leave the skating up to the professionals, Wonder of the Seas has a brand-new ice show, Ice Spectacular 365. This show portrays the changing of the seasons with well choreographed skating numbers. It was certainly one of the better ice shows that we have seen on a Royal Caribbean ship.
Enjoy Live Music Around the Ship
Wonder of the Seas offered a variety of live music in various venues around the ship. From Latin music and dancing in Boleros, to an acoustic guitarist in the Cask and Clipper pub, and piano music in the Schooner Bar, there is something for everyone on this ship.
New to Royal Caribbean, the Country Crew Trio also plays live music most nights at the Deck 15 Mason Jar Bar.
There are also light melodies in Central Park, a rock band in the Music Hall, and two DJs playing into the late night.
Test Out the Other Unique Bars
On the largest cruise ship in the world, you will find a number of unique bars, many with their own specialty drink menus.
New to Royal Caribbean is the Vue Bar, a cantilevered bar offering panoramic ocean views from high above sea level. After sunset, it shines bright with a colorful mosaic canopy.
We also love the Caribbean-inspired Lime & Coconut. These pool bars feature a signature drink menu with many tasty cocktails, including the signature Lime and Coconut drink.
If you are looking for something a bit different, check out the Rising Tide Bar and the Bionic Bar. The Rising Tide Bar gives cruisers a whole new perspective by rising up and down at set intervals over the course of the night from the Royal Promenade on deck 5 to Central Park on deck 8. Whereas, the Bionic Bar is another out-of-this-world option where robotic bartenders serve up your drink.

Best Things to Do on Wonder of the Seas That Will Cost Extra
Dine at the Brand New Mason Jar
While it does cost extra money, the Mason Jar is perhaps the best new addition on Wonder of the Seas. This specialty restaurant brings southern cooking to the high seas.
This casual venue serves up all your homestyle favorites in a farmhouse-style setting. With brunch, dinner, and late-night snacks, along with a central bar and live country music, you might find yourself spending a lot of time here.
We really enjoyed both brunch and dinner at this venue. Some of our favorite menu items included chicken and waffles, gumbo, oyster poβboy, cinnamon rolls, and the Mississippi Moonlight and PB&J Old Fashioned cocktails.
Don’t Overlook the Other Specialty Restaurants
While the Mason Jar is new to the brand, Royal Caribbean’s Oasis Class ships also feature a number of other specialty restaurants that should not be overlooked. If you are looking for a special night out and don’t mind the up-charge, we suggest you make reservations for at least one of these venues.
If you plan to dine at a few specialty restaurants, the Unlimited Dining Package is a good value.
On Wonder of the Seas, you will find the Chops Grille steakhouse, Izumi Sushi & Hibachi, Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen, 150 Central Park, the whimsical Wonderland, and Hooked Seafood.
Spend a Day at the Spa
If you like to pamper yourself while on vacation, then a spa day is definitely one of the best things to do on Wonder of the Seas. Yes, the spa services will cost you extra money, but sometimes it’s worth paying for some rejuvenation.
At the spa on Wonder of the Seas, will find your typical treatment rooms, where you can book massages, facials, and other beauty treatments. There is also a small thermal suite with heated loungers, a sauna, steam room, and more.
Splurge on a Suite
For the ultimate splurge, upgrade to a suite. On Wonder of the Seas, staying in a suite comes with even more perks. This largest cruise ship in the world offers the brand new Suite Neighborhood.
This new neighborhood gives Royal Suite guests the first-ever Suite Sun Deck located all the way at the top of the ship on Deck 18. This neighborhood is complete with a plunge pool, bar, and plenty of loungers. Thereβs also familiar favorites such as Coastal Kitchen and the Suite Lounge for guests to enjoy.
Not to mention, Wonder of the Seas has the best Ultimate Family Suite yet, accommodating up to 10 family members. This two-story suite has a slide, private movie room, its own balcony hot tub, and so much more.
Spend Some Time Ashore
Wonder of the Seas will transport you to several exciting ports of call. Unfortunately, shore excursions are not part of the cruise fare though. These tours and additional experiences can be booked through the cruise line or through third party retailers at additional costs.
Even though Wonder of the Seas is a destination itself, we still suggest you book some shore excursions and spend time ashore exploring your ports of call. There is so much to discover beyond the cruise ship from adventure, to food and culture, history, beautiful beaches, and more.
So, get out there and “sea the world, one port at a time”!
