Celebrity Beyond is the third ship in Celebrity Cruises popular Edge Class of ships. This highly anticipated ship began construction on January 28th, 2020 with her milestone steel cutting event. The first piece of steel was cut for Celebrity Beyond at the shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France.
Then, Celebrity Beyond reached another major milestone in her journey on March 31, 2021. The ship took to the Atlantic for her first successful float out.
Now, it’s time to learn a bit more about this ship. We cover all the details from Celebrity Cruises’ virtual Celebrity Beyond Reveal that occurred today on the brand’s YouTube channel.

Celebrity Beyond will set sail one year from today in Europe. The ship will be longer, taller, and more luxurious than her sister ships, Celebrity Edge and Apex. With a 20 meter stretch and 1 deck taller, Celebrity Beyond will feature targeted increases in space for a feeling of more openness.
Further, Celebrity Beyond showcases the design talents of multi-award-winning British designer Kelly Hoppen CBE; celebrated American designer Nate Berkus; and lauded Paris-based design firm Jouin Manku; the innovation of British architect Tom Wright; and the culinary gifts of Michelin-starred chef and restaurateur Daniel Boulud. The ship will also feature experiences and products from goop CEO and founder Gwyneth Paltrow, the brand’s new Well-Being Advisor.

The end result is a next generation ship that embodies the intersection of architecture and design.”
The Retreat – Celebrity Beyond Reveal
The Retreat on Celebrity Beyond will be a sanctuary for suite guests. This exclusive area will include all new suites and a new two-story Retreat Sundeck. Additionally, this multi-level space will be 40% larger than its predecessors. It will feature more ways to rejuvenate in the fresh ocean air with secluded cabanas, chic new seating areas, additional water features, and the exclusive Retreat Bar.
The adjacent private restaurant Luminae, now located at the front of the ship, has also been re-imagined to provide a new experience with each visit.
An array of contemporary suite accommodations featuring fresh color palettes and design details by Hoppen await guests of The Retreat. These suites include the redesigned two-story Edge Villas with outdoor plunge pools, and Celebrity’s famous Iconic Suites, the largest in the fleet, offering better views than the captain’s quarters.
Rooftop Garden – Celebrity Beyond Reveal
The Lead architect, Tom Wright, has expanded the exterior spaces on Celebrity Beyond, transforming them into tranquil outward-facing areas.
The Rooftop Garden on Celebrity Beyond will be 20% larger featuring a new level of comfort and design. This area will have increased seating with new private nooks. There will also be more spaces for movie watching, enjoying live music, and outdoor dining at the expanded Rooftop Grill.
Along with being larger, the Rooftop Garden also has enhancements for shielding from the wind and two cantilevered float pools.
Resort Deck – Celebrity Beyond Reveal
On the Resort Deck, guests will enjoy a stunning asymmetrical space with a 25-yard lap pool surrounded by a terraced pool deck and new sunken seating areas. This area will also be bigger providing more outdoor spaces for guests. This is of course more important now than ever before.
The Resort Deck will feature enhanced lighting details and a new iconic art sculpture for all those Instagram photos. Of course, Celebrity Beyond will also feature the Magic Carpet. This tennis-court sized cantilevered platform scales the side of the ship. It transforms from open-air lounge or restaurant hovering above the ocean along higher decks to a tender platform for going ashore on lower decks.

Sunset Bar – Celebrity Beyond Reveal
Perhaps one of the most stunning transformations on Celebrity Beyond is the completely redesigned Sunset Bar. This now multi-level area will be 180% larger!
Celebrity Cruises’ Design Ambassador, Nate Berkus, created a chic, Moroccan-inspired escape that is reminiscent of a modern-day Casablanca.
Nearly twice as large as previous iterations, guests will enter the new Sunset Bar through a pergola-covered entrance. The area will feature small niches and covered enclaves for more intimate conversations. Let’s not forget about the impressive bar itself either with its stunning design elements.
Additionally, the Sunset Bar’s cascading terraces will combine to provide the perfect place to soak in spectacular views and create unforgettable memories.
Grand Plaza – Celebrity Beyond Reveal
The core of Celebrity Beyond’s vision of luxury is the Grand Plaza, a transformational place at the center of the ship. Larger than the Grand Plazas on sister ships, the Celebrity Beyond Grand Plaza has an airier atmosphere with more room for intimate seating. The added space also allowed for the reconfiguration of the Martini Bar into the center of the venue as a full, circular bar.
Hanging proudly above the new Martini Bar is the Grand Plaza’s iconic chandelier. The new design features hundreds of individual LED lights that cast an inviting glow at all hours of the day.

Le Voyage – Celebrity Beyond Reveal
Connected to the Grand Plaza is the new, intimate 50-seat restaurant by world-renowned chef Daniel Boulud. Aptly named Le Voyage, travel is the inspiration for the globally inspired flavors at this upscale specialty restaurant.
Complementing Chef Boulud’s world-class menu is the restaurant’s ambiance. With a separate entrance and exit, as well as intimate seating and lighting, the restaurant creates an enchanting experience for guests.
Celebrity Cruises’ President and CEO indicates that there will be a culinary reveal for Celebrity Beyond coming soon.
Wellness at Sea
New to Celebrity Beyond are AquaClass SkySuites. These suites will offer floor-to-ceiling ocean views, private verandas, luxurious bedding, and other wellness amenities.
During the Q&A session, it was revealed that guests staying in these AquaClass suites would have access to Luminae and the Retreat amenities as well as the Blu Restaurant and SEA Thermal Suite.
Celebrity Beyond also sets sail with a new partnership with actress and entrepreneur Gwyneth Paltrow, serving as the line’s new Well-Being Advisor. Paltrow and her team at goop will curate onboard wellness programming and participate in the line’s new Women in Wellness initiative.
All AquaClass guests across the entire Celebrity Cruises fleet (excluding Galapagos sailings) will be treated to onboard wellness offerings. These include fitness kits from Paltrow’s modern lifestyle brand goop, aimed at enhancing self-care and collective well-being.

Celebrity Beyond Now Available to Book
Celebrity Beyond will depart on her maiden voyage on April 27, 2022 from Southampton, England on a 10-night Western European cruise. This itinerary will visit Bordeaux, France; Lisbon, Portugal; and Seville, Malaga, Palma de Mallorca, and Barcelona, Spain. She will then offer a variety of Mediterranean journeys including 9-night Italian Riviera and France itineraries and 10-night Greek Isles itineraries through early October. Celebrity beyond will then head to the Caribbean.
