Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises Extend Cruise with Confidence Policy until 2022

In an announcement today, Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises Extend Cruise with Confidence Policy, along with a few other supplemental policies to encourage new bookings. The brands are significantly extending this Cruise with Confidence cancellation policy, all the way until April 2022.

All Cruise Line Cancellations due to the Coronavirus

Now, guests will have the ability to cancel their cruise up to 48 hours in advance of the sailing and receive a 100% future cruise credit. This applies to all new and existing reservations that are made by August 1, 2020. This extension in the Cruise with Confidence policy will give cruisers extra peace of mind when booking their next vacation. Guests can now book knowing that they can make last minute adjustments to their travel plans based on the current situation.

“Best Price Guarantee”

Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises are also sweetening the deal even further in an attempt to encourage cruise bookings with the new “Best Price Guarantee” promotion. This policy allows cruisers to take advantage of any new promotional pricing or offers at any time after booking and up until 48 hours prior to sailing. Now, cruisers can book a trip anytime and keep an eye out for price drops. If the price drops or there are added perks, cruisers can simply contact the cruise line to receive the new promotional price and/or offer. If final payment has already been made, guests will receive the price adjustment in the form of onboard credit.

“Lift and Shift”

Further, the cruise lines are also implementing the temporary “Lift and Shift” policy. This option allows cruisers to simply switch their sailing to a future sailing. By selecting a future cruise with the same itinerary and stateroom category, guests can keep the same price and promotional offers from their current cruise. The new sailing has to be within the same time frame of the existing sailing but does not have to be on the same ship.

I was disappointed that the cruise with confidence was only available on cruises to April of 2022. I wanted to book a cruise in September 2022.
