Norwegian Cruise Line’s newest ship has made its debut in Miami, Florida. As the fourth and final ship in the Breakaway-Plus class, Norwegian Encore offers cruisers plenty of things to do, see, and eat while sailing the Caribbean (or Bermuda for the summer season). Our list of the Top Things to Do on Norwegian Encore is the perfect place to start planning your vacation.
Top Things to Do on Norwegian Encore
Put the Pedal to the Metal on the Longest Race Track at Sea
How do you top the largest race track at sea? You make it bigger and add some new elements of course. On Norwegian Encore, you can go for the gold on a race track that covers over 1,100 feet. This new course features 10 turns including 4 points that extend up to 13 feet over the side of the ship. There is also a viewing area where bystanders can watch the race. In addition, the crowd can provide their favorite drivers with a temporary speed boost for a victory across the finish line.
Battle for Laser Tag Bragging Rights
Join a team, get suited up with a blaster, and prepare for the most thrilling laser tag experience at sea on Norwegian Encore. This lost city of Atlantis themed outdoor arena also includes augmented reality as part of each game. So, along with avoiding opponents, cruisers will also be on the lookout for “digital” objects which makes this game unlike anything else at sea. Be prepared to use some strategy if you want your team to earn laser tag bragging rights.
Have an Out of This World Experience in the Galaxy Pavilion
Norwegian Encore now offers one of the most interactive and technologically advanced spaces at sea, the Galaxy Pavilion. The Pavilion first debuted on Norwegian Joy, and the cruise line has re-envisioned this venue to add even more out of this world fun on Norwegian Encore. This family-friendly space features a variety of virtual reality experiences including dark ride simulators, a drive simulator, a hand gliding simulator, a virtual reality escape room, and more. With all of these new features, this indoor venue is sure to be popular with cruisers of all ages.

Get a Little Kinky
That’s right, Norwegian Encore features the Tony Award-winning musical Kinky Boots in the main theater. This Broadway production features original music from Grammy winner Cyndi Lauper and a top notch cast of singers and dancers. Also featured in the main theater is Choir of Man. This West End show debuted on Norwegian Escape and has been one of the best received shows on any Norwegian Cruise Line ship. These two main theater shows do require reservations, so be sure to book early.
Take the Plunge
Similar to other NCL ships, Norwegian Encore has an aqua park featuring some of the most adventurous waterslides at sea. The Ocean Loops free fall slide will have you twisting and turning and even extending over the side of the ship during your ride. There is even a see-through portion so you can witness it all. Are you daring enough to experience this thrill? For those looking for a tamer experience, there is also the multi-story Aqua Racer waterslide and the kids’ aqua park.
Admire the Views
Similar to NCL Bliss, Norwegian Encore boasts two observation areas. The Observation Lounge on deck 15 offers stunning views with wall to wall glass, making it the perfect place to watch the ship sail into port. This forward facing venue offers snacks during the day, as well as a full bar. Guests staying in the Haven have their very own Horizon Lounge offering a similar yet more private experience. These venues are the perfect spot for ultimate relaxation while admiring the panoramic views.
NCL cruisers are friendly, and what better place to mingle than the Social Club. This venue serves multiple purposes in the evenings, including regularly hosting comedy shows and transforming into a speakeasy for the one of a kind show Happy Hour Prohibition – The Musical. The Social is also the place to be for interactive dance parties like the Silent Disco and the after hours nightclub with the resident DJ. Late night party goers will love the dance floor, fully stocked bar, and cozy seating at this dynamic venue.
Indulge Your Sweet Tooth
When it comes to dessert cravings, there is no better place to indulge your sweet tooth than Coco’s. Located on deck 6, Coco’s is a chocoholics dream come true. From the wide selection of ice cream sundaes and milkshakes to all the other chocolate specialties, you should definitely stop in for a mid-day snack or save some room for an after dinner treat. All items here are priced a la carte but certainly worthy of the up-charge. Make sure to take your Instagram photos before digging in!

Shake Things up at the Mojito Bar
Located on the Waterfront, with both indoor and outdoor seating, you will want to visit the master mixologists at the Sugarcane Mojito Bar during your cruise on Norwegian Encore. This is one of our favorite bars on any cruise ship as we can never pass up a round of the Jalapeno Cucumber and Raspberry Guava mojitos. You can also sample one of the several other bars with featured menus including the A-List Bar, the Malting’s Whiskey Bar, the Cellars Wine Bar, or the over 50 craft beer selections at the District Brewhouse.
Mangia at the Newest Italian Restaurant at Sea
Onda by Scarpetta is the newest Italian restaurant partnership to hit the high seas. Essentially replacing the cruise line’s former La Cucina, this elegant eatery boasts mouthwatering dishes like signature pastas, seafood selections, and timeless dessert choices. Cruisers can choose to dine inside the restaurant or al fresco on the Waterfront. In addition to Onda, other NCL specialty restaurants like Cagney’s Steakhouse, Los Lobos Mexican restaurant, the Food Republic fusion restaurant, Q Texas Smokehouse, and the French Le Bistro are all featured on Norwegian Encore as well.
Rock Out to Live Music
Music lovers will want to pull up a seat in the Cavern Club and get ready to sing along to the popular songs of the Beatles. While, Country music fans can kick up their boots at Q Texas Smokehouse. Live music is also featured in other venues around the ship including the District Brewhouse, the Atrium, and the Sugarcane Mojito bar. Norwegians know how to party. So, there will never be a lack of music and dancing available on Norwegian Encore.
Upgrade Your Experience with Vibe Beach Passes
The new and improved Vibe Beach Club on Norwegian Encore is now a 2-story private retreat for the 18+ crowd. With plenty of comfy loungers, hot tubs that extend off the side of the ship, a water feature, a full bar service, and light snacks, what’s not to love about this experience? For those who are upset about the omission of Spice H20, the Vibe Beach Club might be your next best option for adult-only relaxation. At present, passes can only be purchased once onboard the ship at Guest Services (though there is talk that this might change). There are also only a limited number of passes available for each sailing, so secure them early.
