Sarah Bretz, ContributorExplora Journeys has announced that it is launching a new 14-night entertainment program aboard its ship Explora I, which will begin tomorrow, July 5th.
The program will include traditional entertainment — featuring a new cast of international artists — as well as a new interactive digital component and exclusive events.
Digital Activities
Digital Activities will allow passengers to use special QR codes throughout the ship to access daily activities including Explora Journeys trivia, crosswords, and word search games that tie into the itinerary and ship’s location. These will be updated daily. In addition, games like Sudoku and chess will also be available for guests to play.
This new technology component to the ship will also allow passengers the ability to make view song lists and make song requests directly to musical performers by scanning a QR code in the Astern Lounge during late-night sets.
Daytime Pop-Ups
Spontaneous pop-up performances by musicians and vocalists during the day by the pool can also be expected through a new program called Ocean State of Mind, as well as by wellness team members.
Hosted Events
Explora Journeys is also offering a program of new hosted events, including progressive events as well as one-off events and solo activities. The event lineup includes more daytime sports, interactive events, and a new multi-day secret Murder Mystery game.
Evening Entertainment
In the evening, guests can enjoy the Explora Music Series, a nightly live spectacle in the Journeys Lounge. Six new vocalists will present a 14-night program without repeat performances, supported by guest acts and luminaries. The ensemble also plays various musical instruments, performing in diverse lineups and events around the ship.
Evening entertainment options include main stage performances, intimate lobby bar sessions, lively nights in the Astern Lounge with dancing, and late-night wellness events celebrating the night sky.
Special Performances
This summer, a variety of visiting performers, luminaries, and the newest lineup of Steinway Exclusive performers will ensure a fresh and exciting experience each evening.
Throughout the journey, guests can enjoy everything from DJ and saxophone sets to the Songbook series honoring artists line Billy Joel and Carole King.
New experiences include Voices of Vegas featuring music from Sinatra to Adele and Motor City, a feel-good musical revue with outstanding musicians. Electric Violinists and West End singers are also among the resident team.
