Anthem of the Seas Puzzle Break

Royal Caribbean has partnered with Puzzle Break to create yet another unique experience and first at sea on Anthem of the Seas. This Anthem of the Seas Puzzle Break is an escape room experience where guests have one hour to work together to find clues, solve puzzles, and locate the key to ESCAPE. The Escape from the Future experience on Anthem of the Seas is an activity that is fun for all ages, but be sure to bring your thinking caps!

Anthem of the Seas Secrets

During this experience, your group will be given some basic instructions then led into a room with many seemingly unrelated objects. Once the clock is started, it is your mission to explore every nook and cranny of the room in search of clues that will help you eventually tie all the pieces together and solve the puzzle. Leave no object un-turned as it could be the missing link.

At first, all of the symbols, pictures, objects, puzzles, and locked boxes might have you feeling a bit perplexed, but remember you are placed in a group for a reason. Talk out loud, work on your strengths, and build off of each other, as that is the only way you will escape. Most importantly, be patient and communicate!

Where is the Anthem of the Seas Puzzle Break?

The biggest puzzle seems to be finding out about the Puzzle Break, as there is not much advertisement about the experience. The Anthem of the Seas Puzzle Break is held in a small room outside the SeaPlex, which also serves as the Fuel Teen Disco. Now you know, and knowing is half the battle.

Where Can I Sign up for Anthem of the Seas Puzzle Break?

The second biggest puzzle is signing up for the Puzzle Break. According to staff and other cruiser reports, you can sign up for the Anthem of the Seas Puzzle Break at the SeaPlex, at Guest Services, or on your Royal IQ app once on the ship. Unfortunately, on our Anthem of the Seas sailing, the computer booking system for the Puzzle Break was not working, so we got the runaround from staff most of the cruise. We finally managed to flag someone down outside the room and secure a spot in the final session of the cruise.

When Should I Sign up for Anthem of the Seas Puzzle Break?

This experience is not available for booking prior to your cruise, but you should try to sign up as soon as you board the ship as space is limited, and this experience does fill up quickly.

Who Can Participate in Anthem of the Seas Puzzle Break?

Anyone can join in on the fun- it is not physical demanding, but rather cognitively demanding. Each session is limited to approximately 12 people who will need to work together as a group. The puzzles involve logic, patterns, and plenty of critical thinking so you need to be up for the challenge. This experience is probably too difficult for children less than 10-12 years old, but we did have a few kids around that age in our group who were great contributors.

When is the Anthem of the Seas Puzzle Break Offered?

This experience is offered most sea days. On our 5 night Anthem of the Seas Bermuda cruise, it was offered at 10:30am, 12:30pm, 2:30pm, and 4:30pm time slots. Of course, these times are subject to change, so do inquire once onboard for the time offerings on your particular cruise.

How Much Does Anthem of the Seas Puzzle Break Cost?

The best part of the Anthem of the Seas Puzzle Break is that it is free. Like many of the other firsts at sea on this innovative ship, including the bumper cars, North Star, and iFLY, the Puzzle Break experience is a complimentary activity that is included in the price of your cruise fare. Just be sure to make a reservation if you want to test your wits.

Our Experience with the Anthem of the Seas Puzzle Break

After solving the puzzle of how to sign up for this experience, the rest was a piece of cake. We managed to snag two spots in the final 4:30pm session on day 5 of our cruise. Arriving right on time for our reservation, we were among twelve other people, who presumably had reservations, but we never officially checked in. The staff member said that even though our group of 14 was slightly larger than the normal, she would let us all participate since it was the last session of the cruise.

Anthem of the Seas Puzzle Break

Our group was primarily individuals in the 30-50 year old bracket with a few pre-teens. Once we were given instructions and led into the room, it took everyone a few moments to survey the surroundings, then we all got to work collecting clues and gathering them at the center table. Once we starting making sense of things, people broke off into smaller groups to solve individual puzzles.

We were making strides in unlocking boxes and starting to make some connections. Once most of the individual puzzles were solved, we had to regroup as a team to put it all together. With each person having his/her talents, it really is essential that you work together and talk things out. With under 6 minutes to spare, we solved the final puzzle- the combination to the locked box with the key inside. WE DID IT! With a sigh of relief and a pat on the back, we escaped from the future.

Anthem of the Seas Puzzle Break

This was our first escape room experience. While we may not have been the strongest members on the team, we had a blast contributing. We definitely recommend you participate in the Anthem of the Seas Puzzle Break. We are already looking forward to our next opportunity to partake in the Puzzle Break on Harmony of the Seas.
