MSC Cruises has announced that it plans to roll out its Guinness World Records entertainment program across the entire fleet.
The program, which gives guests the chance to break official Guinness World Records titles through a variety of activities, was introduced aboard MSC Seascape and MSC World Europa in March 2023. It’s already available aboard 12 ships, and will be rolled out across the fleet within the next year.
To date, MSC Cruises guests have broken 30 Guinness World Records titles. These include:
- Being the fastest to pull 100 meters (just a bit shorter than the length of a football field) of rope
- Completing the fastest time to finish 20 chair rotations in under 21 seconds
- Putting the most pairs of socks on one foot in under 30 seconds
“Guinness World Records exemplifies the kind of successful activities we offer on MSC Cruises’ ships, engaging the entire family. It’s heartwarming to see all ages come together to compete and play,” said Matteo Mancini, Senior Manager of Family Entertainment at MSC Cruises. “On our ships, everyone can be a star, and Guinness World Records now is not only in the book or in the TV show but has become an unmissable onboard live experience for all.”
While at sea, guests can participate in record-breaking activities during the day and audition for the grand evening show, where the lucky finalists can demonstrate their talents and aim to become the next iconic record-holder.
Any new record breakers are verified by a GWR Official Adjudicator and awarded a Guinness World Records certificate.
The ships that currently feature the program are MSC World Europa, MSC Euribia, MSC Meraviglia, MSC Grandiosa, MSC Virtuosa, MSC Seashore, MSC Seascape, MSC Divina, MSC Magnifica. MSC Bellissima, MSC Seaside, and MSC Splendida.
