American Queen Voyages Prepares for Its Second Alaskan Expedition Season
American Queen Voyages is preparing for its second Alaskan expedition cruise season aboard the Ocean Victory. This season, guests will explore the stunning landscapes of British Columbia and Alaska through an intimate expedition voyage.Â
Knowledgeable expedition guides will take guests on a journey through a variety of shore excursions. These tours provide meaningful opportunities to delve into the fascinating cultures and the unique environments of each destination. Equipped with a fleet of Zodiacs and kayaks, the itineraries will provide guests with in-depth explorations of Alaska’s natural, historic and cultural treasures.Â
This Alaskan season, American Queen Voyages’ guests will visit popular destinations including:
- Ketchikan, Alaska – known for some of the most spectacular natural panoramas, unspoiled wilderness, and Native Alaskan culture.
- Petersburg, Alaska – an authentic Alaskan village with Norwegian and Tlingit cultural aspects. Over the course of the trip, cruisers will be among the privileged few to visit the authentic Alaskan village of Petersburg.Â
- Wrangell, Alaska – a historical town thriving with Tlingit culture and home of the Tongass National Rainforest. Guests can venture by jet boat to the Anan Bear and Wildlife Observatory to see the thriving local bear population, eagles, and harbor seals.
- Fiordland Conservation Area – a largely uninhabited region with glacially formed fjords with massive granite cliffs and an unspoiled bay where black bears and grizzlies roam.Â
- The Misty Fjords – housing soaring granite cliffs and dazzling waterfalls unreachable by larger cruise ships.
- Waterfall Coast – where guests can count waterfalls for 150 miles as they spot deer, mink, and bald eagles.
