Tie The Knot With Virgin Voyages: Cruise Line Kicks Off Weddings at Sea

“Why get married by the sea when you can get married on it?” asked Virgin Voyages on its website. That’s right, the cruise line has announced that starting this fall, it will be opening bookings for weddings aboard its cruise ships.

To kick off the new offering, Sir Richard Branson helped three couples tie the knot last week during Virgin’s ‘Celebration Sailings.’ The weeklong festivities, which were also headlined by Boy George, included poolside DJ sets and stargazing with Virgin Galactic astronauts. And from the Caribbean to Europe, Branson ‘officiated’ three weddings to kick off Virgin’s wedding packages.

While bookings open this fall, weddings on board won’t officially begin until summer 2025. Details on package options, of which there will be three, will be announced later this year.

Weddings will typically be officiated by the captain or an officer on board. However, other requests will be considered. It’s important to note that they are celebratory wedding packages, and are not legally binding nuptials.

In addition to weddings, Virgin Voyages will also be able to host vow renewals, engagements, and anniversaries.

Those who are interested in a wedding package with Virgin Voyages should fill out the line’s interest form to receive more information.
