Holland America will expand its presence in northern Europe with a third dedicated ship in 2027.
Zuiderdam will join Nieuw Statendam and Rotterdam in taking guests throughout northern Europe, while Oosterdam will continue as the line’s primary vessel sailing Mediterranean cruises. Nieuw Statendam and Rotterdam will continue to homeport in Rotterdam, while Zuiderdam will sail from Amsterdam. Both Zuiderdam and Rotterdam will also offer departures from Reykjavik, Iceland, and Nieuw Statendam will return to Dover, England with alternate itineraries for those wishing to sail roundtrip from England.

Northern Europe
As one of the world’s logest-sailing cruise lines, founded in Rotterdam in 1873, Holland America keeps its European heritage at the forefront of the onboard experience. The “Dutch Touch” can be found on board every ship and on every itinerary, from classic design to “Dutch Day,” which integrates numerous Holland America Line traditions into a celebration of the culture, cuisine, and country of the Netherlands.
Throughout each voyage, the “Northern European” experience continues on board and ashore through locally-sourced regional delights. And during European cruises, guests can try some of Europe’s best cocktails curated for HAL guests by Dutch bartender Tess Posthumus. Guests can also learn more about each destination through a series of onboard “Up Close” presentations and port talks, as well as see live, local entertainment in locations like Warnemunde, where they can take in the sounds of a German oom-pah band.

Mediterranean
Also available for booking in 2027 is a series of seven to 15-day voyages in the Mediterranean aboard Oosterdam and Nieuw Statendam.
Each cruise will sail from one of four homeports: Barcelona, Piraeus (Athens), Trieste (Venice), and Civitavecchia (Rome). The ships will explore a total of 54 ports throughout the season. Travelers can also combine itineraries for voyages up to 21 days long with no repeat ports.
Bookings for 2027 cruises aboard Rotterdam, Nieuw Statendam, and Oosterdam are open for booking today. Bookings will open for Zuiderdam and Volendam‘s Voyage of the Vikings later this month.
