Crystal Cruises Orders 3rd Ocean Ship From Fincantieri

Crystal Serenity Returns to Service

Crystal Cruises has announced that it is in the finalization stages of an order with Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri for the construction of a third ocean ship. This comes as a result of the option granted under the two-unit agreement announced earlier this summer.

Similar to its sister ships, the 690-guest (based on double occupancy), 61,800 gross ton vessel will feature a host of amenities and innovative designs, ensuring unparalleled comfort and luxury for guests. It is being developed by renowned international architecture firms, and the interior design will use the best materials and craftsmanship.

A standout feature will be a promenade that wraps around the entire ship, similar to the ones on Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity. Dining options such as Umi Uma, Nobu, and Beefbar will showcase a variety of world-class cuisines. Crystal will continue to offer exclusive entertainment along with Casino de Monte-Carlo, which is set to debut on Crystal Symphony this month and on Crystal Serenity in December.

The new ship will feature all-suite accommodations with private balconies, including a popular single occupancy category with balcony designed for solo travelers. The vessel will have one of the highest crew-to-guest ratios in Crystal’s segment in the cruise industry.

โ€œExercising this option and agreeing to build a third ship together showcases the trust and partnership between my family and Fincantieri, dating back to Sitmar Cruises and evolving through Silversea to our present vision with Crystal,โ€ said Manfredi Lefebvre dโ€™Ovidio, Executive Chairman of A&K Travel Group.

Cristina Levis, CEO of A&K Travel Group, added, โ€œWeโ€™re pleased to bring an expanded fleet to our guests, offering even more ways to explore the world with the extraordinary service and style synonymous with Crystal.โ€

This announcement comes two years after A&K Travel Group acquired Crystal Cruises in 2022. Since then, the cruise line has been focusing on enhancing its offerings both at sea and on shore and expanding its fleet to provide memorable experiences for guests.
