Carnival Cruise Line is welcoming the two newest members of its Australian fleet this week. Today in Sydney, Carnival Adventure officially joined the fleet during a special celebration led by Carnival Cruise Line president Christine Duffy. A second celebratory event will take place tomorrow in Brisbane for Carnival Encounter. On the same day, guests will be welcomed aboard from both homeports for each ship’s first sailing as a Carnival Cruise Line vessel.

Completing the integration of P&O Australia into the Carnival brand, the ships — previously known as Pacific Adventure and Pacific Encounter — have been reimagined for Carnival while still retaining some of P&O’s most-loved elements. Together with voyages aboard Carnival Splendor and Carnival Luminosa, Carnival expects to sail over 500,000 guests from its Australian homeports this year.

The addition of the two ships also brings Carnival’s total global fleet to 29, which is the largest fleet it’s ever had in its 53-year history.

“Our expansion in Australia demonstrates incredible enthusiasm for our brand and we’re grateful to our loyal guests who continue to drive our ongoing growth, solidifying Carnival as the world’s most popular cruise line,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. “Doubling the fun in our Australia homeports enables us to deliver more sailing options, offer more variety and deepen our partnerships in the Sydney and Brisbane communities.”

On board the ships, guests can expect a unique blend of familiar dining like Luke’s Bar & Grill and entertainment offerings alongside Carnival’s signature experience. Carnival’s team members will create the fun atmosphere Carnival’s known for, with the Fun Squad hosting deck parties and a myriad of activities. A range of additional Carnival experiences and activities have been added as well, from comedy shows and 80s Rock and Glow nights for adults to Build-A-Bear workshops, Seuss at Sea, and Camp Ocean for kids.

Carnival Encounter will sail year-round from Brisbane, offering a range of four to 10-day voyages to destinations such as Airlie Beach, Cairns, Willis Island, Mystery Island, Port Vila, and Noumea, among others. The ship will also offer short three-night cruises to nowhere.

Carnival Adventure will sail year-round from Sydney, offering four to 10-day cruises that visit places like Moreton Island, Noumea, Lifou Island, Mystery Island, Yorkeys Knob, Willis Island, and Airlie Beach, among others. Like Carnival Encounter, Carnival Adventure will also offer three-night cruises to nowhere so guests have plenty of time to enjoy the ship.
