Carnival Cruise Line has announced that it is adding to its entertainment and music lineup by expanding its Carnival Live Spotlight Series.
Now in addition to the entertainment that Carnival passengers know and love, they’ll have more opportunities to see performances by standout singers — many of which will be from popular reality competition TV shows.
Carnival Live adds another element of live entertainment to the Carnival experience on select voyages. Across the fleet, hundreds of entertainers deliver a wide range of performances and experiences for guests. Every day of the year, 30 production shows, live music, comedy shows, game shows, and other events and activities take place.

“We’re building on the success of the program thanks to positive guest feedback since its launch last year,” said Chris Nelson, vice president of entertainment at Carnival Cruise Line. “The best way to exceed our guests’ expectations is to deliver something unexpected, and our Carnival Live Spotlight Series performances do just that. Each one is a great value-add to our industry-leading entertainment.”
Carnival previously had a similar program, which was also called Carnival Live. That program, which began in 2014 and was formally discontinued in 2018, saw the cruise line’s ships hosting concerts by well-known rock, pop, country, and R&B performers. And instead of being part of a day’s regular entertainment schedule, they were treated more like actual concerts — with an extra fee attached.
The current version of Carnival Live appears to be more toned-down, providing up-and-coming artists the opportunity to perform at no additional charge to the cruise passengers.
