Sarah Bretz, ContributorThe Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection officially has a three-vessel fleet. The brand took delivery of its third yacht, Luminara, at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint Nazaire, France on Tuesday.
The delivery was commemorated with a traditional maritime handover ceremony, which included the changing of flags and a celebratory toast on the vessel’s deck. The event was attended by company leaders including president of the shipyard Ernesto Fara and general manager Laurent Castaing.
In a post on Facebook, Chantiers de l’Atlantique said “Just one year after Ilma, Chantiers de l’Atlantique is proud to deliver Luminara, the third ship of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection fleet, which combines elegance and performance. We thank the shipowner for their trust and extend our appreciation to everyone whose dedication, precision, and expertise made the construction of this vessel possible.”
Also in attendance was Captain Magnus Bengtsson, who will be at the helm for Luminara‘s inaugural Mediterranean season starting in early July.
Named after the Latin word for “light,” Luminara comes in at 46,750 gross tons and can acommodate 452 guests in 226 suites. The vessel features a pool area with hot tubs, a spa, five restaurants, and seven bars. The brand’s signature aft marina will also be found on board.
The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection’s first yacht, Evrima, debuted in fall 2022. Ilma, the second vessel in the fleet, followed in late summer 2024.
Following her inaugural Mediterranean season, Luminara will sail through the Indian Ocean before beginning a schedule of Asia-Pacific sailings this December. In May, the vessel will reposition to operate voyages to Alaska for. the summer 2026 season.
