Of course, there are also casual, sit down restaurants like the Drift Bar and Grill or the Swimming Pig gastropub.

We dined at the gastropub and enjoyed the laid back atmosphere. The signature cocktails, along with truffle fries and fish tacos, were the perfect way for us to unwind after a long day of travel prior to our cruise.

There are also a variety of bar and lounge options to fit every mood day or night. From casual poolside bars to swanky cocktail lounges, it’s up to you where you grab your next drink.

Daqs serves up some tasty custom-blended, fresh daiquiris, or there’s even a swim-up bar at H2O. In the evenings, guests can enjoy live music and craft cocktails at the Jazz Bar or spectacular views from the Skybar rooftop lounge.

Each room at the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar Bahamas offers contemporary decor and upscale amenities. All rooms include either a Juliet or full balcony with grand views of either the beach, the resort, or the fountains.

For our 1-night stay at the resort, we booked a Fountain View King room. These rooms are advertised as 382 to 450-square feet with floor to ceiling windows and a Juliet balcony.

The bright, beachy room offered plenty of space. The open concept design offered amazing sightlines throughout the entire room, even the bathroom. The modern furniture and décor gave the room an inviting feel.

This hotel room offered typical amenities. To the left of the bed was a desk with a mini-bar. There were ample outlets and USB connections to let us charge our cameras and gear in preparation for our cruise embarkation day.

The hotel also has tablet devices in each room. From these touchscreens, you can view resort information as well as make reservations.

To the right of the bed was additional comfy seating. This included an oversized love seat with accompanying ottoman.

Our king-sized bed delivered the perfect night’s sleep after a full day of travel with plenty of space to spread out.

The luxurious bathroom came complete with marble finishes and June Jacob bath toiletries. It included both a soaking tub and a stand alone shower, as well as an enclosed area for the toilet.

With double sinks and more than enough space, it was easy for the two of us to get ready the next day.

For those staying at the hotel longer, rest assured that the room boasted all the essentials. Rounding out the in-room amenities were a Keurig coffee machine and a 42″ LCD high definition television.

Recap Grand Hyatt Baha Mar Bahamas Hotel Review

For our one night, pre-cruise stay at the Grand Hyatt, we were certainly spoiled. In fact, we did not have nearly enough time to experience all the hotel has to offer.

The hotel features more than enough dining options and activities to satisfy all types of travelers. With the new waterpark and additional restaurants now open, there are even more options to custom your stay in the Bahamas.

For those who would prefer to relax, there is a long stretch of private beach and several pools too, each with unique theming and décor.

Our original flights had us arriving earlier in the day so we could experience more of the resort. Sadly though, flight cancellations and delays meant we did not have enough time to really enjoy the facilities.

The hotel room itself had an open concept design and plenty of space for the two of us.

We could certainly see ourselves staying at this hotel again or one of the other sister hotels on the property. While we almost exclusively cruise for our vacations, we wouldn’t think twice about planning a mini-getaway at this resort.

For those looking to extend their stay in the Bahamas for several days, this resort offers more than enough things to do, see, and eat.

It’s almost like a cruise ship, but on land!
