Pearl Seas Cruises Expanding Cuba Cruises

Pearl Seas Cruises’ Pearl Mist is one of the most immersive ships sailing to Cuba. The cruise line has now announced an even more intimate itinerary on this 210 passenger vessel. Starting in the fall, the line will offer an 11-night cruise. Circumventing the island, this cruise includes stops in Havana, Cienfuegos, Trinidad, El Cobre, Santiago de Cuba, and the new port of Casilda. In addition, cruisers will now have more opportunity to interact with the people. All of the cruise line’s included shore excursions meet the U.S.’s “people to people” requirement for approved travel to Cuba.

Celebrity Cruises Adds Second Female Captain

Celebrity Cruises is continuing to break down barriers. Just this week, the cruise line was happy to announce one of its newest captains. A few days ago, Nathaly Alban was appointed captain of the Celebrity Xploration. This expedition ship makes year round sailings to the Galapagos. Ms. Alban is the second female captain in the line’s crew. In 2015, Celebrity Cruises named Kate McCue the first American female captain of a major cruise line ship. Alban has been with Celebrity since 2006, most recently as the third officer on another Galapagos bound ship, Celebrity Xpedition.

Cruising Through the American Revolution

American history buffs, your cruise has arrived. Well, not yet. On select days in Spring of 2018, travelers can take an 11-night American Revolution cruise onboard the new American Constitution. This one of a kind cruise will transport cruisers to some of the most iconic spots of the Revolutionary War. Departing from Baltimore, MD, stops include Colonial Williamsburg, VA, Yorktown, VA (the site of the final Revolutionary War battle), and Washington, D.C. Cruises start at around $6800 per person, based on double occupancy.

Carnival Cruise Line Brand Ambassador “Turns 30”

Congrats to John Heald. This Carnival Cruise Line cruise ambassador is celebrating an anniversary. This past week marked his 30th year with the company. Funny and outspoken, John started his career with the company as a bartender. He quickly moved up the chain to become a cruise director. Now, Mr. Heald is one of the faces of the company with his popular cruise blog and appearances at public events. To commemorate the celebration, Carnival made a video honoring his accomplishments.

Also in Carnival cruise news, the line released additional photos of Carnival Horizon’s construction. The ship is looking great and getting ready for its April 2018 launch. The ship will begin with cruises in the Mediterranean, before heading west for a summer season in New York and finally docking in its homeport of Miami, FL.
