Future Impact on Ports of Call

While the impact of Hurricane Jose is not known yet, Hurricane Irma did have major impacts on several ports of call.

St. Maarten was one of the islands most impacted by the first storm. Early reports indicate that the airport and adjacent area endured massive damage. The cruise port has also sustained damage. However, cruise lines have not announced itinerary changes for cruises calling on that island beyond next week.

Another popular stop Tortola and the British Virgin islands was also seriously affected by the storm. Damage sustained most likely means that ships will not be able to dock at the islands for some time. The next scheduled stop on the island is the Disney Fantasy on September 26.

Other islands in the area were also impacted, including St. Thomas; although, it is unclear whether the damage will limit cruise ships’ ability to stop at the island. Early reports indicate the island witnessed enough damage that will make travel difficult for some time as well. Our friends over at Cruise Critic have a complete run down of the initial impact of the storms on the various islands in the Caribbean.

Hi Suzanne, Thanks for the question. We have checked with Carnival and that Triumph sailing is not listed as one affected by the storm. Good luck!
